It's not going straight through to Dallas anymore, which is why everyones latency went up. You could say they incapsula'd Graal now too.

It would be better if they moved the servers to Chicago.

The only reason I would do wat OP did (temp.pl = player;) is if you're messing with offline TServerPlayer objects, as they cause the player object to go NULL.

I.e.
