The file wasn't writable by the npcserver because of missing rights. It must have been caused by the fact that I was restoring it from a backup sometime in December,...

Update: uploaded a new version of the RemoteControl for Mac which works on Lion. It doesn't crash on resizing anymore and the shortcuts are back (now uses Mac shortcuts like Cmd+C/V)
