Sometime around October 2007? I remember I was too held down by school work to actually find time to get on.

Lately I was just roaming around and I remembered this tiny portion of the internet, so I just wanted to drop in to see how everything was going. =]

you missed nothing but decay as far as zone goes, it had a little high for a bit but now its plopped again, staff team are working hard but to get results they would need a fully commited developer team and proberly a short period of time with zone **** down.

You missed the release of 300 red pistols. Sean won 299 of them.

You see he was the only one online for 299. I beat him in the other.

I remember I talked to Az, Sean, dude2020, Switch, SN, IXI, steve, Tench, Silver, and others too (trying to name them off the top of my head lol). I remember I talked to jkool here and there, but not too much.

I remember I was quite beast with the sabre, taking 3-4 noobs at a time. Until they would use pulsars to finally get me xD.

Okay guys, what are the causes for Zone to die? Last time I was on everything was great even though it had the casual super-noob here and there.

I just remember a butt load of people being on. There had to be something that caused it.

I think it was v4 that caused Zone to start going down in flames. I remember at the time I thought it was because people were starting to get greedy (not shooting for flame, but it's my honest opinion) and they wanted more money by making people get gold by making a time limit for guests.

I was lucky enough to have alot of fun on Zone before v4, and lucky enough that when I paid it caused permenant access to forums and classic.

I'm just a little unhappy to see that my favorite server is going down like this. I talked to alot of cool people on there >_<.

I'm sure a lot of people will agree that the gelat system is one of the major factors in zones death. Although even before the gelat system zone had started to die.

Are the owners not willing to change that system and promote some kind of free play?
I remember that the reason I started to p2p is because I had a guest account for a long time, and I was getting sick of losing all my exp because I wanted to be able to use the sabre.
Plus there were a lot of benefits at the time, for example the unlimited access to classic and forums with the gold subsciption.

Plus I'm sure that Zone die down was just from all the 14 year old that decided to find something else. Alot of the seem to do that ;). Of course this 14 year old (at the time) played for almost two healthy years. I was just hoping that now I'm 18, I could go back and see a thriving online game. I suppose nothing lasts forever =[.

Is there anyway to fix it?

Unlimited classic again along with a 30$ package of gold would be stupid. Not like anyone really plays the gold servers as much as classic.

I love the idea. My only problem with it would be getting rid of alot of items. I kinda paid for them. (thats the reason why I upgraded ya know?)

Zones community died then, not the game itself. iirc there where about 20-30 dutchies that played weren't there? That just goes to prove that they got bored of zone and its lack of updates, just like the previous generation.

If we let trials play like they use to, but lose stats and even equipment after an amount of time, then Zone will thrive again. They use to be the blood everyone starved for xD.

Plus at times they made about half the population, and everyone knows they were a trial at some point. We just got sick of losing our stats so we signed up with benefits lol.
