Will there ever be a level editor update with GS2?

I like to fool around with the level editor a lot and check out my scripting abilities a little, but GS1 is so cramped, and I heard GS2 is amazing, but I can't test in GS2 offline.

They really need to make a level editor update.

No. Never.

If you want to learn GS2, go try the Testbed server.

Stefan has made it clear that the level editor is left for dead as they try to get people to work on some inferior online one. Shame really, the level editor would be so great if it was updated however I don't think this will ever happen anytime soon. :(

Don't be so quick to judge... I've been using GK's old online level editor, and it lays tiles just as good as GraalEditor. Not to mention it's instantaneous. All it needs is NPC functionality, which I think Tig might be doing with his editor.

Tig got NPC stuff added to his already. I tested it earlier, and it's awesome :]

We need that client update, so we can start rolling out good scripted development tools. Right now the only problem I have with them is that they feel choppy

Hopefully there's some sort of offline environment so you don't have to become a slave to the internet to use scripted dev tools.

Maybe someone could put together a third-party gs2 runtime and hook it into any old third-party level editor. Volunteers?

I sure hope he doesn't waste time on one.

You should try out the testbed server.

Where is the level editor on it?

I'm sure if you ask Tig nicely, he'll let you try his

Create/edit levels using the offline one, and upload them.

I would prefer an updated offline editor over the online one.

So would we all, but the only thing the offline one lacks is layer support. There is absolutely no need to add GS2; for the most part, GS2 should be discouraged in levels anyway (and replaced with classes).
