Battle of the Bands II

Once again, Era is hosting Battle of the Bands. It will take place tomorrow (Sunday, August 16th) at 3:00 PM EST.

Bands will still be accepted until later today. I will begin contacting the bands that have already signed up to confirm that they still wish to participate.

Also, anyone who has rented an instrument and would like to exchange that rented instrument for another can ask me, and I will be happy to do so. If I'm not on, you can make a ticket in the temporary Events > Battle of the Bands category.

kkewwwl

Frankie 08-15-2009 08:55 PM

oh boy! I can't wait to hear unoriginal and overused songs played by talentless *****s.

Venom_Fish 08-15-2009 08:59 PM

Although, the concept is very relative to gaming.
You can't shoot a real gun, press d on a game.
Can't play a real instrument and do something with productive in that department, spend countless hours trying to be great with a computer keyboard, then better yet... compete for nothing!

Frankie 08-15-2009 09:03 PM

I would much rather see these contestants play music that is original. that's usually what battle of the bands is :P it's ridiculously stupid when people enter and start playing the same **** that's played at unstick me every day. so cliche and repetitive.

BlueMelon 08-16-2009 12:59 AM

All i hear is zelda songs anywayss

Vman13x 08-16-2009 04:46 PM

Lol, I remember when ruby entered battle of the bands last time. That gave me a good laugh.

Venom_Fish 08-16-2009 07:18 PM

Frankie, whats going to be more interesting is how they're going to be judged.
I can't wait to see what nimrodic manner they choose the winner in.

The judging will be the same as it was in the last Battle of the Bands.

I already have my grading scale:

Zelda - 5 stars
Mario - 4 stars
Anything Final Fantasy - 3 stars
Anything else - 1 star

BlueMelon 08-16-2009 07:56 PM

Old_Days was supposed to be in the first round, but because I added his band manually, I forgot to place him in the band "lineup", which is why I pulled him in the second round. I think it's fair to say he'd have passed the first round, anyway.

Crono1508 08-17-2009 03:02 AM

One of the judges told me it was crappy to watch.

Frankie 08-17-2009 03:06 AM

who the hell is old_days? another UN kid with 4 hours?

I was told it was worse than the one that was hosted previously. However, i'm not sure how true this is since I wasn't able to go on when this was hosted.

It says he has 716 hours on Era, so no I don't think he plays UN.

Vman13x 08-18-2009 03:32 AM

Old_Days practices :D, and I agree with vimes he wouldve easily passed the first round.

sam_is_me 08-18-2009 03:46 AM

what did he play, jurassic park?

Vman13x 08-18-2009 03:49 AM

Eh I dunno, I was to busy say stuff lol.

Venom_Fish 08-18-2009 06:37 AM

That event was a failure, it was worse than when you hosted it because it was ONE more time after you hosted it. The more its hosted, the worse it'll become. :D.

I agree with you that overtime the event will be less and less popular and eventually die. The owner of the comic club needs to find ways to increase the interest in the event. Such as having it like a real battle of the bands and allowing the players to vote. (Might be a popularity contest though, but irl battle of bands it is though too) or a specific genre thing. Or you could have duet only, or single only, etc...

Vman13x 08-19-2009 01:42 AM

They should also host small events too, like let bands audition to play, and stuff blah blah blah. I forgot what I was going to say :(.

xnervNATx 08-19-2009 05:47 AM

god i heard he win with jura-sick park
wtf, that unoriginal and can be found on internet, complete failure.

Trak 08-19-2009 05:53 AM

It sucked, I left half way through :[

Venom_Fish 08-19-2009 11:07 AM

I told everyone to play /dancegame and try to get 1000 points.
80% were all doing it, rofl. Fun.
