Resist for weapon magic.
Yeah, it's totally not lame that someone can stack 28 magic resist and run around in my bullet storms until I run out of mp yet I can't stack any resist against weapon magic so I just take epic damage gg. Resist formulas need to be redone and a resist for weapon magic should be added because everyone seems to be stacking around 30 magic resist which pretty much negates most of my damage and you shouldn't be able to run around in bullet storms and take no damage that's ridiculous . I can't even kill Craigus if he stands still with his 28 magic resist and i spam bullet storm until my mp is gone.

How about you argue unbiasly? The fact is, all resists need to be fixed, that includes gods and the clear problems with magic.
Magic is flawed in that your actual magic level doesn't influence anything, except you get more sp, but in turn, your spells cost more mp... so in reality you don't... actually... get... better... Also yea, resist scrolls are there to be used, which wouldn't be a case if magic level affected damage, since then, if you weren't hurting a row user who's scrolled up and using egg rod, it's because you're too low level. But then, what are RoW users supposed to do? Especially against mage teams that have become a trend within Samurai. I'm sorry but you can't expect a player to not prepare himself as best he can for a conflict. That excludes rest scrolls unless their passive and being lamed. That being said, magic is just ONE area that needs to be fixed. And it's not really the most important area to be fair, the mage population is low and the problems with magic aren't as such that mages can't function. I think there are bigger problems to be met with Gods and balancing them, with the broken/unused resistances, which, if all were working properly would make GK a very interesting server for pvp with so many things to watch out for even from a warrior. Also poison is more pressing, since the majority of the server is affected by poison and it's obvious 'lame' element. Feel your argument is pretty bias since you're a mage and only see the problems which you face, hence the suggestion of resisting weapon magic... resists for magic are fine, a warrior can only get 16-20 magic resist w/o sacrificing key components of being a warrior, that's pretty low, the problem is that magic level doesn't affect damage or any part of being a mage really. But then there's the problem that warriors don't have any other choice but to wear RoWs which put them at -44magic resist... That's ridiculously low considering Mage rings have no real drawbacks when it comes to resists... More variety and new rings for warriors so would solve this problem. |

edit: also, all you have to do is put on dual rohm and take off rows and it would pretty much be impossible for a mage to kill you which is ridiculous. |

And lol@ 'take off rows'... :noob: |
Mages are hard to play because even with 30 pow 30 dex you still get fkd when you cast. And if everyone used bows mages would fail epicly in pvp. And if you took off rows and had 60 magic resist i wouldn't be able to do any damage at all to you and if i did you would regen it back since mages don't have a way to poison players or kill their regen. Oh, man you lose speed and damage by taking off rows but you pretty much have god mode against mages, nice1.

I've played both Mage and warrior on here now both high end geared and I'd like to think I'm at least above average on both ends.. I agree with Cubes magic is harder and A LOT more frustrating than melee... Whith a mage it's all about timing and luck if you're fighting someone like Storm for example that is pro at lining up when he strikes and all your casts get canceled you're **** up creek without a paddle.. also as they've stated 107 resist scrolls pretty much give people god mode against mages and that's not being biased I've said that even when I was fighting as melee as well..
And we're not just preaching kill magic resist it's like Majin said as well they all need adjusted.. best example is actually against Majin.. If he's standing there not paying attention outside I can walk up and basically one-shot him with Holy word... as funny and enjoyable as that maybe it's kinda messed up rofl.. Also as Majin said about poison.. the fact that it can dictate an entire fight is really garbage.. poison should do damage over time not knock you back and ruin everything you're doing.. not slow you down or decrease your HP.. I know I'm kinda all over the place here but on the topic of magic levels like Majin said there is NO benefit from being past level 18 magic.. how long your walls last and how much of a range you get off destruction are definitely not advantages worth spending any time actually leveling it.. Honestly it's more like you get penalized for being high level.. sure you get a little SP every level but that tiny bit of SP doesn't even compare to the mana costs of your spells as you go higher.. |
Heh so we have godmode when we remove RoW's? you have god mode when you run around in circles with 6 speed, ever tryed chasing a mage? what are you even suggesting anyway? increase the power of magic? lower the effectiveness of resist? If so give us a way to slow down mages.

Playing mage is hard-mode, fact.
Get poisoned and you eat 4 weaponmagic attacks that all hit for 50-80. Playing mage is far from getting magic bullets off, it's more like dodging that nasty berserker with the bigass sword and hoping the damage you do will outdo his insane health regen. EDIT: and the average mage has around 3.0 speed. The average melee has around 5.0 speed. And mages don't poison but melee does. |
all it really takes is for you to get poisoned and its game over unless your lucky and get a cure poison off

Weaponmagic is just raw, un-reduced damage. That's all. If you're having trouble hitting someone with an attack type, either switch weapons or enchant your weapon so that you can attack with both types. Quote:

Resist magic does not mean you are resistant to all forms of magic. It only lowers the damage of spells with the 'magic' subtype. (Large Bullet, Manaball, Mana Blast, etc.) It doesn't apply to other types like cold, fire, electricity, and all the others. I can run around with 75-80 magic resist all the time from my gear, but that only blocks out that small range of spells. In order to have really good defense, it takes having both good AC and multiple resistances. One of the reasons I love Brigid's Shield of the Earth is because it lets me reduce the damage from fire, cold, and electrical spells by 30, and with scrolls added onto that, I can get a boost of about 60 resist to all those types. And yes, that helps for reducing both weapon damage and spell damage I take. If you don't cover your bases like that, you'll take full damage from whatever they hit you with, and even more damage if your resist is negative. |

Gale = lightning resist demon stone or pmop= fire resist bda = cold resist I'm sure craigus swaps out those |
