Active Developers

How many of us are out there?

If so..
What Project do you work on?
How long have you worked there?
Include other relevant details if needed.

I am currently leading the Zodiac V2 project and it's almost at an alpha stage (Essential system scripts coded). I hope to get the essential systems coded so I can put my think tanks and content creators into action.

I've been working for Zodiac for almost 5 years now, and I've been fired a couple times, banned, global banned, re-coded many of the server scripts, fixed hundreds of bugs, and seen my fair share of staff come and go. From this experience I enjoy the fix it can provide.

I've been trying to push Maloria forward the past couple of months, without much help from other developers (with a couple of exceptions).

Used to work there back in '04-'05 as Developer (eventually Developer Admin), so I'm really passionate about the server, and am doing my best to see it rise back to it's former glory.

Galdor 07-03-2009 01:21 AM

Future graal projects xD I want to create something new and fresh but that still is good and entertaining, atm im kinda focused on getting this GK 2 thing that I have in mind started, but needs to work on my ideas offline until Stefan gives me access to G3D again if he ever will :P

DustyPorViva 07-03-2009 01:23 AM

Active.

Robin 07-03-2009 01:49 AM

Active (Again) after a year of absense.

salesman 07-03-2009 01:59 AM

I'm currently a developer on Era, ex-Dev Admin...I'm not exactly sure how long I've been working there (maybe about a year or so).

I'm actively doing something just about every day for several hours. I also work on my own server (Dev salesman) whenever I can, but I don't have much help so it's not really going anywhere.

Riot 07-03-2009 02:13 AM

I voted on and off, I take extended breaks and don't really get a whole lot of work done these days between family, school, and various jobs.

I'm working on the new Delteria, which is a project of several years in the making thus far. I've been working for Delteria on and off for around 8 years now, and I've also helped out random servers.

oo_jazz_oo 07-03-2009 02:37 AM

Active. Only currently working on npulse, and helping some friends out on their dev servers. :P

But, mostly doing things on n-pulse. ^_^

Cloven 07-03-2009 04:11 AM

I'm always on Delteria Dev.

On a side note, it's a shame more of us can't work together in a more meaningful fashion.

1: Personal project for something to occupy myself with during down time.
2: The past couple weeks.

fowlplay4 07-03-2009 04:19 AM

Perhaps if there was some sort of Community Server Project to contribute to. I'd imagine we could amount a decent Graal mini-games server or something.

But then again, what would the point be in doing something meaningless like that?

Wouldn't be that hard for a whole bunch of developers to contribute whenever they get the time on an events-type server where the sole purpose would be for players to get on and play whatever minigames are available for mere entertainment. Sort of like that amazing bomberman event that ETB made for G2k1 not that long ago where the only part of the server that was open was for playing that event. It was pretty fun while it lasted.

Not totally meaningless but it's sort of like the testbed server but with a little more meaning instead of just learning how to script -- here you would also put your work to some practical use. Of course, most of us have our own projects to worry about, but a purely event-based server without an overworld or anything like that (maybe just a spot to hang out) could be pretty interesting, especially since events are for the most part easy to make.

I'd still say that there's no point in something like that. If developers would get together for something, it should be for something grand and meaningful - which will never happen.

maximus_asinus 07-03-2009 05:13 AM

I guess I shouldn't have voted "yes", I am more of an on and off sort of guy. Currently I am working on UN, but I do dabble offline with a dream project that I know I'll never finish.

Arch_Angel 07-03-2009 05:40 AM

If decent developers just started a small project for some fun, I don't care what theme, it could go somewhere. I mean, why not? Everyone complains how Graal is dying and how nothing new is out there. I mean, I know everyones opinion of a fun server differs in many ways, but there has to be somethign that can draw a good bit of people there to just HELP, and get something new up there on the hosted/classic tab. Hosted really isn't too hard if you think about it, especially with the right help.. But Graal's community just isn't about coming together and 'trying' to just do something. Guess we need a project leader to push thiis idea through, and get an overall gameplan down! But it won't happen :(

Crono 07-03-2009 06:02 AM

On and off.

Deas_Voice 07-03-2009 03:01 PM

on and off, i trend to leave when everyone else is, i dont like to work alone. thu i never worked on a classic server.

You relize this could easily be done on the testbed server with the mass (sorta) of developers there?

Arch_Angel 07-03-2009 11:26 PM

Easily? Not so easy if it hasn't already been done.. :\

Galdor 07-03-2009 11:36 PM

Arch Angel sharpen ur sig please its so blurry! >=O

WanDaMan 07-04-2009 12:09 AM

Me and Darklux have some fun with the editor every few months! I put foward a concept to my brother, we are both eager to start development soon :)!

LoneAngelIbesu 07-04-2009 12:18 AM

I'm active -- been working on Valikorlia for the past two years, I'm pretty sure. :)

Crono1508 07-04-2009 02:34 AM

I would be off/on, I guess. Since I've been a GAT for N-Pulse, Maloria, Unholy Nation, and Zodiac.

ff7chocoboknight 07-04-2009 02:40 AM

I work on Classic and Divine Darkness.

It really is blurry.

MrAnonymous_P2P 07-05-2009 01:56 AM

Retired. Nothing has caught my interest lately.

Used to work on Era way back in the day, like the Jenn Era. Good times.

Then on to various private servers just helping out. Then to Niromia, where we finished the server, and then we just all quit. After that it was just kind of a bummer to develop by yourself... RIP Niromia.

I usually manage but I do graphics work, level design and some ganis.

No no, I think you are mistaken. Might wanna get your eyes checked out also.

I'm currently working on Bomy Island with Rufus & Rudora with Skyld. I've been helping Bomy Island for a couple of months now (I think...) & I've just recently starting helping Skyld (on and off for the past few years) to help finish Rudora.

Liberated 07-05-2009 11:37 AM
