Scrolls in core

Scrolls in core are lame and if I can't use directors in core I'll be damned if people can use restore scrolls and resist magic scrolls. I have to constantly cast my protection from magic on everyone in Dustari to prevent them from having high magic resist it's ridiculous. Me, klay, kale, essence and pojo were all casting on Craigus and Maroku from behind the gate and they managed to break down the gate without dying once, it's ridiculous and totally not fair to casters both me and klay stacked our bullet storms and depleted our mp and craigus was still just hacking away.

shrimps 06-30-2009 11:59 PM

If Maroku was the one doing it why do you expect it to be changed then?
Also use prayers, there's no resist scroll for them plus they hurt.

Cubes 07-01-2009 12:01 AM

brigid = no wounds, and everyone in dustari was doing it, it wouldn't have been a problem if EVERYONE wasn't doing it.

seanthien 07-01-2009 12:06 AM

Funny how the blame is all put on Dustari as if we were the only ones doing it. What're you gonna say now "well you did it too, and you did it first"? That just makes you just as guilty as anyone else using scrolls.

Cubes 07-01-2009 12:09 AM

What I'm saying is scrolls should be disabled in core. Unless core is intended to be melee only which in that case gg on failing at making events equal for all players.

seanthien 07-01-2009 12:11 AM

I thought scrolls weren't even suppose to be usable in core.

This is very true, there's no resist physical scrolls. If you allow scrolls you're severely weakening magic users.

You guys were passing them out to each other in our core, also I would like to see someone who can stand there without resist scrolls and wearing rows that can take a bombardment of bullet storms without moving

I don't recall ever getting a scroll. Maybe a few other dustarians, but not everyone. I recall some of your guys using scrolls too. I don't see how you'll get anywhere by accusing us of doing something when you did it too.

Cubes 07-01-2009 12:31 AM

They should be disabled then no one can use them. If you don't want to take damage from magic in core go balor, holy possess and wear some roes a zormite shield and a resist magic amulet

Tigairius 07-01-2009 12:58 AM

k disabled scrolls and potions

Cubes 07-01-2009 01:03 AM

pro

Mousymee 07-01-2009 05:40 AM

restoration should be one of those spells that can't be written imo, not like you'll ever need them pve and they're just lame pvp

kia345 07-01-2009 05:42 AM

Scrolls of restoration are old hat, mana leaves are where it's at

MajinDragon 07-01-2009 07:47 AM

I don't see what's so lame about resist scrolls...

Craigus 07-01-2009 11:38 AM

Not that lame, and you guys did it to, you make it sound like i just stood there and ate scrolls, i ran off to heal every 20 secs or so, and because there was no melee threat and you all hid behind the gate i removed a RoW, wore my resist magic king shield had BDA on i'm sitting at about +20 positive without popping a scroll a bit less with brigids curse

Get some blinding weapons on your melee fighters, TBH it's a bit of a slap in the face tig has removed the use of scrolls in core after i 26 slotted a Xmas flaming sword so i could be more effective in core, I'd seriously like a refund on my invested diamonds and IWD's into this pointless sword now, please.

MajinDragon 07-01-2009 04:54 PM

Oh dear i just realised that now, Blinding is now made useless in Core... I think the problem is restoration/healing scrolls which make it ridiculous when someone has prepared 100-200 restoration scrolls... Resist scrolls and pots were fine imo.

kia345 07-01-2009 06:07 PM

Why not limit the use of scrolls in core? Make it so none can be written during core, and you can only use four or five

StormYs 07-01-2009 07:17 PM

One scroll last pretty long, like 3-4 minutes so.. I think that removing scrolls and potions out of core is a nice idea, although I thought that this was already implanted in the core but it seems like it wasn't.

Should've reworded it; disable all scrolls except restoration/healing, put limits on them

saetarshadowflare 07-23-2009 06:47 PM

Just disable healing in core, and change the respawn to put you at full life/half sp

or disallow healing scrolls to be written. It's not like it is hard to get 99 phys resist, so you can't use that excuse, nice try though.

Even though i don't use scrolls because i don't need them, why limit a player if they took the time and money to level a profession to make it worthless in a very main sect of pvp? That's just stupid.

I like that idea alot more, the reason i would maybie use a healing scroll in core is because once you die, you start off with 0hp and sp... wth? You can't even defend immediately, and god forbid your core has been stormed already...

Also, pots and scrolls were immediately disabled without any thought to mana crystals... just wtf? So mages get infinite sp, while warriors can't resist, or heal their wounds? Nice job.

Best solution would be to have everyone respawn after death with 80percent HP and SP the use of scrolls limited to 1 scroll per 5minutes (so you choose, resist, or restore once) and mana crystals limited to one per 2minutes.
Also, CP now has 3 governors... Did anyone bother to note that a kingdoms leader deals 2x more damage to doors and core? So they essentially have 6x damage during a core... This needs to be addressed. The king bonus is a great feature, encourages leaders to take part in battles, but obviously it's flawed with CP having such a ridiculous system of leadership.

Cubes 07-23-2009 09:12 PM

I don't even like reading gk forums because most of the suggestions made here are ridiculous and bias as hell.

StormYs 07-23-2009 11:23 PM

Warriors can resist them self with the resistance spells that they have.

Oya like removing scrolls and pots but somehow avoiding the thought of mana crystals :noob:

:megaeek: REALLY?

Oh, my, god, I can't even explain how hypocritical you actually are with that statement coming from you.

saetarshadowflare 07-24-2009 06:14 PM

Pubes isn't worth talking to, he just wants everything to work in his favor, did the same crap on maloria forums.

On a more serious note, here's the most simple way to balance core, and to help balance kingdoms in general.
Disable all restoration items (hp,sp,grace)
Nerf poison to only reduce speed and regen, or 1 random stat speed and regen
Allow all spell scrolls that cause damage to be used on a timer
Allow buff scrolls (armor, resists, stats) to be used.
Fix magic+ to go further than +3, spell point regen sucks and needs a fix, bump it up to 5 or 6
Disable the reduction of food in core, it really isn't necessary in the game at all, but it should at least be disabled here where there are far more important things going on
Change the kingdom leader bonus damage to only count for one of the leaders, or remove it entirely.
Put a cap on # of player difference so that way it isn't 25 vs 3 ever. 5 player difference cap, maybe 3.
Change revival hp/sp to be max hp half sp

Any comments?

Note: it should be obvious which decisions are meant to work outside of core also, don't act a fool.

Cubes 07-24-2009 06:20 PM

I was more or less directing my post at majin, also I'd like you to quote something I posted that was bias.

Draenin 07-24-2009 06:53 PM

Healing scrolls are probably the biggest detriment to fighting in Kingdoms core. Same goes for mana crystals. They allow players to re-stabilize themselves too quickly.

As for resistance scrolls, get over it. People already have resistances on their items, and resist scrolls just augment that. They're purely for defensive purposes and just reduce damage, not negate it entirely. Resistances are the 'AC' of a magic attack's 'WC' or spell power.

Also, as for Craigus' problem, I do agree that it's wholly unfair for someone to lose all the enchantments they've toiled so hard over putting onto their weapons. 676 diamonds are a lot to throw away. Not to mention, you have to spend extra money for all those enchantments.

Read the thread again, and this one http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=86681

You may not think it's bias, but even so, you're no applying enough thought to what you're speaking.

To be fair to Cubes, I think there's a difference between being biased and simply not having enough information to go on.

It couldn't just be that I only complain about things that effect me which might give me the appearance of being completely bias. And in response to your reply to my post. Mages pretty much have no way to fight someone stacking scrolls seeing as they take no damage. And 30 magic resist pretty much keeps you from getting hurt by all magic spells because you'll outregen the damage. Although people who use weapon magic have no downfall seeing as there isn't a resist for it so it's like putting a mole into a cage with a cat, the mole doesn't stand a chance. Also spells that could cause damage suck like firebolt, ect.

Quote:

Shouldn't nerf speed just remove your regen.

Quote:

What's the point they all suck for pvp and most of them suck for pve.

Quote:

If you stack magic fire elec and cold scrolls there isn't a single mage on the server that would be able to kill you.

Quote:

It's fine where it is, SP cost needs to be redone because anything over 18 magic is pretty much useless in my opinion because it doesn't do enough damage to make up for the SP cost. and if I wasn't 110 already I would just reset my level 35 magic so I could have 18 again.

Quote:

Go bile then because if this was done it would take away one of the advantages of being bile in core.

ya

Does it really matter? There isn't enough players on with the right gear and levels for core to even be effectivly played so every little bit helps. You should just find a more active kingdom if you have a problem with it. They know what they are getting into if there is 25 cp on and only 3 dustari and they start core. Next time maybe you just shouldn't show up when the odds are against you.
Quote:

Change revival hp/sp to be max hp half sp
It should be like this for everything to prevent laming since everyone seems to cry about it.

saetarshadowflare 07-25-2009 12:09 AM

Actually, if you spam enough create bomb scrolls you can lag everyone out and win any fight you get into.
But i see an interesting point you make

Why can't we either drop exp, or move exp to another area if we got it in some place we don't need/want it Since magic pretty much stops being useful after level 18 why not input some kind of self given exp cap so that way you cannot accidentally gain exp in said skill. I doubt that exp transfers would ever happen but the idea is nice...

I agree with the revival after death idea, it just is a huge pain in the ass to have to sit and wait to regen sp and hp. Especially in core where time is of the essence.

And the only reason i think poison should affect speed at all is because its the only way to really bring a fight to a conclusion, because if you are about to die, and you can run, most people will just run, no one likes to die. The speed reduction at least keeps people from trying to get away from a fight they can't win.

That's why I never use that word around you, rofl.

Scrolls are a way to survive when "Large Bullets" are hitting 10-30s on you because of your negative magic resistance. Really, what kind of basic magic spell does such damage not to forget that you can spam it. The whole magic/resistance system should be re-done.

Cubes, I find it bias, because what you just said;
Quote:

Which in regards to that, I say you're not thinking enough about how it would effect others. You're just trying to make yourself more powerful without any thought of how this might effect actual gameplay.

Though I have to say from another point of view that mages aren't that great either since the only real spell they can use is something that is casted fast like "Large Bullet, Bullet Storm" before they're hit. (If you weren't brigid though, wounds can deal some massive damage from my experience)

who do 30 damage bullets? maybe 10 with -60 magic resist from being ogma+ rows.

What I meant was I'm not going to complain about Biles finger of death or anything else that doesn't effect me. It's not like I'm saying 'lol lets give mages and extra 600 hp and make them immune to poison.'

yeah and curse prevents people from using them on me, so I accept that trade off.
