Updating my Graphics Card.
 

Well, for sometime now I have been trying to, I use a NVIDIA GeForce 7150 M / nForce 630 M. I go to the Nvidia website however it does not cover that graphics card. I try finding a similar updater however it does not work.. Can someone help me find an updated version of this???

The "Go" cards are notebook ones. I assume he's not using one though. The NVidia website offers an auto-detection of your graphics card though (see the link fowlplay provided). Try using that.

I updated it for my laptop, assuming it would reduce lag on Graal, it did absolutely nothing ...


I am using HP and Nvidia is saying I must upgrade via the hp website, however I never found an upgrade there.

I hope they come out with the new Graal Version soon so this lag goes away. Seriously, I have to go to 800 by 800 resolution and say /hideall. When there isn't a /hideall command on some servers like most of Unholy Nation's events I can't play because I move 10x slower then everyone else so it sucks... I thought updating the Graphics card would help but it doesn't.. Graal really needs to improve if it wants to keep vista players.

The most reliable site that many MANY people use for laptop graphic cards. Scroll through and find the latest ones for your operating system. Follow the instructions regarding the INF files (it's quite simple). They have a list of supported graphic cards/onboards, just make sure yours is on it.

There is over 15 pages of Windows Vista 32-bit. Finding the correct one, would take ages.. How do I know which one is correct because my computer rejects every single one but the exact one I need, and my computer thinks it has the latest Graphic Driver but it doesn't because nothing has changed since the day I got it in terms of the graphics/lag.

Your laptop will reject everything that's not from HP because that's how laptop drivers work. That's the point of the site, they modify the INF file (you stick it in the setup folder or whatever, follow the instructions) and your laptop accepts the driver.

If you have Vista, you look for the latest Vista drivers. If you have XP you look for the latest XP drivers. etc

Look through it's list to see if your display thing is supported. If so, download it and then download the modified INF drivers. Follow the site's instructions on what to do with the INF file and then load the setup, it will install.

Don't forget that a Geforce 7150M sucks.. Perhaps when we get an updated client things will run smoother for low-end machines.

Until then the best thing you can do right now is attempt to update the drivers and disable Vista's Aero effects, or downgrade to Windows XP or try Windows 7.

Every other game works fine at the highest running settings with no lag, such as combat arms, Halo, sims, ect. Graal is the only game that lags. I don't want to downgrade to Xp, and I can't afford windows 7 right now.. so I will have to stick with it.

Windows 7 is free until March or so.

No they didn't, google it. Of course, having W7 assumes you're able to perform basic tasks like updating your drivers, reformatting, etc.

I am using an HP Pavillion dv6000 6707us Home Entertainment LapTop, updates do nothing for this excuse for a computer.

While installing these drivers, your screen may flicker to black for a moment or two. This is perfectly normal.

it's the graphic card chipset and should prevent any conflicts from occurring if the your current chipset drivers are wrong and attempts to block the installation by improperly identifying your hardware.

after installing the drivers, i can't say i can see any different in lag on graal.

Have you tried running Graal in OpenGL Mode?

right click your shortcut, select properties, and at the end of the Target field, add:

-opengl

We will just have to wait until the new version is out.(of graal)

To be honest I don't think it's the graphics, as my Graal also runs slow even with a 9600m GT. Graal itself is supposed to use more of your CPU/Ram.

Graal and Vista don't get along for some reason, it's fine on XP and on Windows 7 though.

However, Windows 7 gave me some very confusing directions to have it installed. I have the software but it wants me to put it on a disk, which I don't really feel like going through all this trouble. Also they said if you have any problems what so ever you must fix it yourself which I don't like.

You won't really have problems. I recommend you don't bother though if reformatting, dual booting, etc is an alien concept to you.
