Drakeero 06-21-2009 11:39 PM

No, I am not gone.

No, I have not given up on Zormite. No, I am not going permanently inactive. Yes, I'm back. Yes, I will be more active again, so you can roll it up and shove it somewhere.

That aside. Zormite is not going to be any fun, if no one else actually comes and sticks with it. No ship battles, no kingdom events, no kingdom cores, no anything if people don't even try. [Back when I was really active, i actually had a person quit because I missed a single day.] So really, some of you really have too much time on your hands or are just... y'know...

Zormite was easily pulling daily playercounts of 4-8 in the evenings, and I will have that again. To those of you who think it's killed and gone again, bite me. I'm not giving up on Zormite that easily.

Crimson2005 06-21-2009 11:40 PM

Give it to PoJo.

Cubes 06-21-2009 11:54 PM

4-8 through out the day maybe, where as all the other kingdoms except forest have a constant 5-8+ on at all times. Honestly when you are on, you aren't on for very long. You usually host a event and leave which is probably just so you don't loose your EM tag. Either give it to someone who is active(nerd active not your current state of active) or let it die and the other kingdoms will just have more members. Either way it doesnt matter to me because the less people in Zormite the more people in other kingdoms to keep them active. There isn't even enough players for 5 kingdoms. Honestly forest and Zormite should be disabled until either the player count goes up or there is actually something for kingdoms to work for.

MajinDragon 06-21-2009 11:59 PM

Death to fishes, CAVIAR AND SUSHI FOR ALL!!!!

Noobie8205 06-22-2009 12:03 AM

I'm going with give it to Pojo it's pretty obvious no one on the server really cares for you.. I've been back only about a month now and even I can see their resentment for you. The only player base you have a chance at recruiting is fresh off the boat noobs and CP already snags them up in a heart beat... Anyone else that actually cares about Zormite is loyal to Pojo other than that thing you call a queen and she's definitely not suitable to lead anything. If you cared about the nation at all you'd just accept the facts and hand the kingdom over or like Cubes said just let it die, delete the island and throw in the towel... Being ignorant and acting like nothing is wrong is not going to get you anywhere.

MajinDragon 06-22-2009 12:06 AM

About Khloe, she's an alright girl but that cancer comment i've heard about... That's not something a kingdom leader or anyone in an influential position should b spouting.

Cubes 06-22-2009 12:07 AM

Maybe not delete it but disable it until the player count goes up to keep the other kingdoms more active. Honestly I'd rather keep pojo in samurai.

MajinDragon 06-22-2009 12:08 AM

Well didn't we just get 50/60 playercount yesterday or friday? I'd say the weekend playercount is healthy. about 1/3 of them weren't in a kingdom.

Noobie8205 06-22-2009 12:11 AM

I was going more along the lines of we only need 3 kingdoms.. even with 60 people on there's still not enough to fill out all five.

MajinDragon 06-22-2009 12:17 AM

Meh true, 3 is better and Samurai have definately proved they should stay by getting new leadership and gathering strong support after they were in the firing line of the kingdoms to meet the cut.

Pojo was did an excellent job as leader of Zormite, but that he's recently been willing to be in just about every kingdom except Zormite can't just be overlooked.

Elizabeth 06-22-2009 02:07 AM

i'd be active in zormite if i wasn't a trial.

CABAL49 06-22-2009 02:52 AM

Last time I talked to Pojo about his leadership he made it clear to me he wasn't going to do it again unless it was a temporary thing. I also don't know don't know where this "everybody in Zormite hates Drak" is coming from. I consider myself to be friendly with both Drak and Pojo. While they don't often agree, I don't see any actual resentment.

Also, no Kingdom will be deleted, especially not one so unique as Zormite. I suppose that would make me finally quit if it were though. I can't see myself in another Kingdom.

I was told not to come back to Zormite when I left (when Drakeero became inactive. Granted, he asked me to come back several times, but he didn't beg hard enough). Dustari was the first logical choice. That's where I was during Tycho/Fenix's thing (we all refused to be a part of that), that's where Pat went, and most importantly: that's where the fun was at.

John left for CP, and that encouraged Pat to. Now, I like Nullify (replacement king at the time), but I felt better doing what had become natural for me, following Pat. CP was fun, but we both became aware that it was almost the same as Zormite. A king that didn't care, and only a handful of members we thought mattered.

SUDDENLY, DAYA BOOTED FROM FOREST. Being old friends of Mydia, we immediately jumped ship for Forest, she needed our support, Forest had been doing as badly as Zormite, and we didn't want to see another kingdom of friends turn to filth. And it didn't hurt that Draxx had came back to GK to try and reclaim Forest. Of course we weren't enough, and Mydia/Highlander disappeared. Pat quit GK, and I went to Samurai, which had also just recently gotten rid of a ridiculous excuse of a leader. Granted, they didn't need me, but I needed them. And this entire time, what tag have I been on outside of kingdom spars and brief toguild conversations? What kingdom have I been representing? Zormite, via my Zorbi tag.

tl;dr, I wanted to be in Zormite. Not some failing Zormite where Drake's just going to tell me "stfu no", but a Zormite I can be proud of. I couldn't have that, so I picked the next best thing(s).

I don't want to lead Zormite again, at least permanently, because that's the same reason I don't care for Drakeero. I'm fine with him screwing up as an Emperor, but screwing up twice? We both had our chances. I hardly did anything (development-wise) in Zormite the first time, I don't want to be known for doing that twice. I'd love to be back up there, and at least make Zormite look good and worth joining, and I'd love to be the king again. But I don't want to just "be the king" and have me making Zormite look awesome. I want Zormite to be awesome, with or without me leading it. If that means I have to be king, then sure, why not?

Seeya 06-22-2009 04:21 AM

Give zormite to pojo.

The royalty now is discusting. I dont hate drakeero for anything besides his inactivity, but the empress shouldnt be making fun of kids who died at age 14 with cancer x_x.

She's not even that active either.

Yeah, you wanted to be in Zormite. But your actions suggest you didn't want to be in it very much.

The most important thing for the leader to do is have active members on the roster (far more important than development work). You and Pat did that, under a worse serverwide activity situation than there is at present.

The company I keep within a kingdom (besides Zormite) is more important than the kingdom name, sure. But wanting to be in Zormite has little to do with the people in it, and more to do with my experiences in the kingdom and how those are reflected by the kingdom now. I wouldn't have the same experience I had in my early years as I would have had with Fenix/Tycho, and I sure wouldn't have anything worth remembering being in there now.

Joining other kingdoms is based on who my peers are, because I don't have any nostalgia or passion for the tag itself (unlike my feelings for Zormite). Leaving Zormite was based on who my peers were (or currently, who my peers weren't), because they were making that nostalgia and passion rot away.

Didn't have the opportunity to be back in save more making Drake look good at my own expense. I offered Drake suitable people to use for the reasons he wanted me back. I even wrote him an Adventuring! event. If I could've done anything that wasn't demeaning to myself to make Zormite rock under Drakeero, I'd have done it. The problem was, there wasn't anything I could do short of become Zormite's face while Drakeero sat around and just occupied the throne. And then, Zormite would only rock until I finally got pissed at Drake and left anyways.

I'd feel bad about holding on to without doing anything besides attracting a crowd. Sure, I'd enjoy it, and hey, maybe it'd become awesome, but at the cost of me holding the kingdom out of some other candidate's reach just because I can get a lot of people to hang out.

Question: Who was the leader of Zormite when you joined?

It would seem, then, that the status of the kingdom is less important to you than who gets credit for that status.

What you're getting at here, are problems with the kingdom structure of having a single individual leader as the only real power figure in the kingdom whose tenure is subject to no will but their own (resentment by other potential leaders, the need to bring redundant prestige to themselves to justify their position, etc.) I don't consider these problems unsolvable. Do you?

I still need to see proof of this claim, for an Empress to say this... Just needs proof.

Uhm she's online every day atleast 2 hours... She's quite active :p

Early Drakeero, which could explain why I don't have much else to compare my time to.

Only when do-nothing leaders are involved. Especially ones that are oblivious to it.

Yes.

No, which is why I did a quick (3 ronery nights) draft on a horizontal rank layout that had multiple 'kings' with different "subkingdoms" and actual rights/duties for Drake when he first got Zormite back from Tycho. The idea was "hey, lots of exleaders and bigshot members want Tycho and Fenix gone, why not spread the power out". Drake hated it, and it was really just a concept, but a concept I'd like to see tried.

Would you rather be in a kingdom where you knew almost everyone in it or one where you don't really know anyone? Honestly I'd be kingdomless if nate wasn't leader of samurai because none of the other kingdoms really have anything to offer me. I have been playing with nate, klay, essence, and keith, moogul, shrimps, and a few others for a very long time. I'd totally have left a kingdom even if I was leading it to join in the fun with all of them. Which is what pojo was doing with pat I don't see the problem in it.

So basically, "I care more about status than the kingdom's success, except for when I don't."

I've left the kingdom for political reasons in the past as well, and always ended up regretting it. At those times, it was easier to be in another kingdom than Zormite precisely because I cared less about the other kingdoms. Eventually I realized how ridiculous it was for caring about Zormite to be a barrier to being in it.

This isn't about whether kingdom jumping is "justifiable", but rather the implications it has for leadership candidacy.

As simple as possible, it was fun. He was on, there was the appearance of stuff getting done, and there were people there worth being on tag with and messing around with.

CABAL49 06-22-2009 11:44 PM

Wasn't Drak supposed to be a temp himself?

Probably not with Drakeero, but, correct me if I'm wrong, active people usually means there's a reason to be active. If a good amount of people can be on, even with Drakeero, of all people, then maybe there is some good left in the kingdom. But right now, I hardly see anyone ever on, and I see Drakeero as at least partially responsible. If there were active members, enough to overlook the inactive Drakeero, then I might be interested.
