Graphical RC freezing - SOLUTION

Ever try to log onto a server with graphical RC and it just freezes? I've encountered this bug many times and never quite figured out what was causing it. Eventually I came to the conclusion that it was from creating a shortcut to RC on my desktop or start menu or such. The problem is, from what I can gather, that the RC will try to find the graphics from the location of the shortcut, rather than the directory of the actual RC. This means you try to log onto a server and without the images to load, it will stall.

Well I think I've found a solution:
> Delete any shortcuts you are using for RC currently.
> Go to your Graal folder and right click your RemoteControl2.exe.
> Click 'Create Shortcut'. This will create a shortcut in your Graal folder, leave it here, you don't even have to bother renaming it.
> Right click the shortcut that you just created.
> Click 'send to > desktop'. This will create a second shortcut on your desktop. From there you can move it wherever you want. Feel free to rename it as well. Instead of doing this step, you can click 'pin to startmenu' as well.

Tada. You should have no problems at all, now.

Unfortunately, you're complicating the process. Just right-click the short-cut on your desktop, go to "Properties", and fill in the "Start in:" box with your Graal installation directory.

E.G. "C:\Program Files\Graal\"

I always made a shortcut of it and left it in the Graal folder as Dusty said, then had any shortcuts I made of RC lead to that one.

It works because Windows automatically points "Start in" to the directory of the original program, when creating shortcuts. You could do it the way Dusty said, but it's not the simplest way, I guess.

Whatever works :P
No one really posted a fix before, and if they knew one maybe they should have :) No reason to keep something this important to themselves.
