[How To] Get RC Working on openSuSE (Linux)
Lately I have been messing around a lot with getting RC working on openSuSE 11.1, and after a while I finally managed to get it working half-way decently (but not entirely).
OpenSuSE is a pretty common Linux OS, so I figure I better post my findings for you guys in case I'm not the only one out having trouble getting openSuSE to run RemoteControl.
Below are step-by-step instructions, if you have any questions, write them in this thread.
- Run YaST > Software Management, search "gtksourceview" and check gtksourceview and gtksourceview18; click Accept and install them.
- Now, start your RC and uncheck Graphical Menu. Click OK, after you connect to the server list, close RC again.
- Navigate to your ~/.graal/rc/ folder, and open control2config.txt
- Change all of your image path names to the full paths (eg. iconplayerlist=/home/tig/bin/rc/rc_playerlist_normal.png)
- Run RC again, except now it'll work when you check Graphical Menu.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to get it to display PMs and stuff since I'm not able to edit that file path, if I run RC from terminal it'll give these errors (even though they're in the same folder as RC):
