Just an observation.

So much false hope given from about 2 months ago when getting a new manager was being highly debated-- **** you to anyone involved with promoting that false hope in order to keep their position or those who used it to get a better position.

I've been voicing change lately within the staff, gave a lot of ideas to DC/Thor/Storm, yet all I got in return was "I may use some of those" even though they also said "I really like them."

Thor even went as far as to say my ideas were "impressive, better than most he's seen lately." Yet none of them went anywhere because Storm leaves everything to DC who lately hasn't done anything.

It seems any time somebody has a great idea it goes nowhere. Has anyone heard anything about the newspaper idea?

I've been trying to get DC to prioritize the newspaper.

You should do as I tried(or intended) to start to do like 2 years ago and post them on the forum complete with concept pictures so you get public responses of approval.

i'm siding with stryker. i've tried the same with similar responses. part of the problem is that they aren't tasking anybody, the other half is that management hasn't decided on a hit detect system

About the newspaper (and what went wrong with it):

- Created newspaper template.
- Luda created the graal gfx for it.
- Doahh worked on Newspaper Office Building. The guy disappears.
- I worked on the Newspaper Printing Machine. Waiting for Doahh to come back.
- White Dragon (I think) was working on the template code for newspaper layout.
- Didn't go as smoothly as planned (coding became too complex)
- I decided we should change the Newspaper entirely into an image file..
- But there was disagreement!
- Why? Because the newspaper has to be player run, not staff run!
- If an image file, that means a GFX developer must create a new newspaper each month.
- Luda quit. Thor won't let us use his newspaper gfx.
- White Dragon's gone.
- Doahh's not back.
- Thor's article sucks.
- And thennnnnn, nobody talks about it anymore.

This inaccurate timeline is entirely in my point of view.
Feel free to change stuff around and add information.
I, too, want the newspaper to work out.

Can I see the graphics Luda created?

Ask Luda or Dev for it. I don't have RC so I can't retrieve the file.

Why are you interested? If it's still on the server ask for the newspaper npc and you should see it, it's the graphic in the gani where it looks like you are looking at your map.

Yah I know I could see how newspapers could be similarly made as to how you and hell raven did my poster idea on your server.

If it's a GUI, it doesn't need THAT much scripting

the text overlaying is easy, the only part that was slightly challenging were the special effects Hell Raven added where it zoomed and spinned.

I guess black and white graals are a positive? I would disagree because really--I could have made those by mixing and matching scripts from the GC tools.

I actually think this was successful, but not to the full extent it could have been. Quite a few newer players logged on daily JUST to find the Graals and they probably would have stuck around too (I know some of them would like to) but through lack of things to do and lack of a finish on the Graals you can't really expect it. It should have been released in conjunction with other content, or at least at a stage where another release seemed possible as it isn't something that works on its own for very long. Then again, it has been 3 weeks after the release and they're still bug ridden and don't feel finished; maybe they shouldn't have been released yet at all.

Local Guilds was denied by you guys, so shush!

The real question that bothers me is if Classic is broke why is nobody trying their hardest to fix it?!

Hmmm...fixing classic all day (a seemingly thankless and endless task) or doing anything else....hmmm....

Hmmm... staying in staff position and not doing work or stepping aside... hmm...
