New GC Prizes

New GC prizes would definately help the server. For one, it would make people spend some of their hundreds of tickets. For two, it would clear out some of the useless pieces of crap we currently have as prizes.

Night and Pelikano (aka Sam) have started to work on a few, and I've dropped a few ideas.

But let's see what the people of classic would like to see as npc prizes. Post any reasonable npc ideas you'd like to see.

Keep in mind that they can do damage now (like .5 or 1, no autokill stuff,) and that we're trying to make some "reusable" npcs that people have to keep buying (beer would be an example.)

*Newbie*
What is GC?

MysticX2X 05-20-2009 07:04 PM

GC = Game Coordinator. Basically it's Classics Event's Team.

They don't necessarily have to be damaging to another player. They can be effective to another player or their can even be new GC prizes which can be fun for yourself.

I'll post some ideas later.

how would new GC prizes help the server at all? Retain about the 5-6 people who would actually care?

development power would be better spent elsewhere.

BlackSolider 05-20-2009 08:59 PM

New prizes = people wanting to spend/obtain tickets to buy them.

People wanting to spend/obtain tickets = more competitive events.

More competitive events = better server.

Better sever = self explanatory.

MysticX2X 05-20-2009 09:22 PM

Honestly, when I first read this thread, I thought it was an announcement of GC prizes lol. (Not "GC prizes in development")

jacob_bald6225 05-20-2009 10:03 PM

Grog should make a return.

fa12 05-21-2009 11:20 PM

GC prizes like RPS.

Mark Sir Link 05-22-2009 02:20 AM

I still don't get how these people with a thousand tickets don't understand there are more players than them.

there are about 5-6 people who would benefit from new GC prizes.

id surely spend my 721 tickets on new prizes

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 04:17 AM

Everyone would benefit from a new group of prizes. It would make tickets valuable and desirable again if the new prizes were deemed desirable.

Pelikano 05-22-2009 08:51 AM

The prizes should be:

- Not overpowered
- Give the Player some kind of advantage
- Consumable (optional, but would be kewl)
- Easy to dev, so I can play CTF. (wait, no)

As example: A bow that shoots 3 Arrows, 2 Diagonal...

saying the same thing over and over again doesn't make it true.

releasing new prizes will just continue the current practice of denying newbs entry to events.

it won't help anything

all this for my tickets

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 05:37 PM

I require evidence of noobs not being allowed into events.

The only event I extremely dislike noobs joining is ctf because they can kill the entire event for one team.

The event gui isn't hourist, nor are masses. Limit warps are trialist, but we don't often use those for events. I seriously doubt your claim of "denying newby entry into events" is valid at all.

MysticX2X 05-22-2009 08:49 PM

Why are you making up words?

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 09:07 PM

Because I'm not wordist.

Mark Sir Link 05-24-2009 01:36 AM

for starters Classic uses a system that makes it overly complex for someone who hasn't been around for a bit to figure out how to join events.

Second, midbies ***** and whine whenever someone new joins any sort of team event and cries for their removal which typically happens while the GC tries to act subtle (too bad 100% of the GCs are idiots and fail at this).

Third, the hurdle of even winning any tickets is huge since no events are ever hosted that require more than tapping a few keys which allow the same few people to win over and over.

BlackSolider 05-24-2009 02:03 AM

Yes because it pming someone is so complex. Not to mention clicking on a button then clicking join is just so difficult.

Duh, they kill team events. Most of the time GCs cannot remove them unless they're screwing up the event by not trying or something.

Everyone can tap keys. Everyone is usually given 8 hp (like 99% of the time.) Everyone has the same odds of winning. Obviously the probability of certain people winning is going to be higher is b/c people are just better than others. (Maybe I switched the odds/probability up, but you get the point.)

Are things perfectly clear for the newbies? Do they have a super high chance to win? The answer to both is no. But its not hard to figure out how to join: read the gc's mass. Nor are they at a non-skill based disadvantage.

So drop this bull**** about how events are biased against noobs; we can't exclude people from events.
