Monthly Spar Tournament: May 2009
 

In just over 4 and a half hours time the Monthly Spar Tournament will kick off again. That's 7PM Eastern Standard Time as always, or midnight if you want to go by GMT.

Once the dust has settled and the fighting is over, only one fighter can be victorious. Deophite took that honour last month; will they be able to defend the title for a second month in a row, or will another challenger take them down? ^^

Or will Deo even secure his spot in the tournament?!?!?

Im gunning for the most chances this time.

With only minutes to go before the tournament started last month's winner Deophite was nowhere to be seen, leading many to believe that a new champion was guaranteed. Like all great warriors though, Deophite showed up just in time to defend his honour.

The setup was changed slightly this month, to help prevent players getting too many chances to enter the tournament. Instead of the usual 'first 2 people to PM the GC' style summon spars we switched to using the new event queue, with priority given to those who had not yet had a chance to fight.

Final

• Deophite vs. Crono - Deophite won by 1hp.

So despite turning up at the 11th hour, Deophite was able to defeat all challengers and retain the title for another month, earning himself 10 more GC tickets for the achievement. Crono takes 5 tickets for making his way to the finals.

The Classic Monthly Spar Tournament is held on the second Saturday of every month. A quick look at the calandar tells me that's the 13th of June. I'll see you all then for more bloodshed.
