Battle Mode

When you're kingdomless, or upon leaving a kingdom, shouldn't bmode go away?

Craigus 04-19-2009 05:04 PM

I don't see why it should. Also i never really understood why it required joining a kingdom to enter battle mode.

That's why it should.

Since you have to be in a kingdom to enter bmode, it should be removed upon leaving the kingdom since otherwise you'd be stuck in bmode. Either that, or remove the requirement to be in a kingdom to enter bmode.

Bmode should be forced up level 30+ players, the argument against that is elites will lame, but we'll get bored when it becomes the norm. It's annoying to have to go to your kingdom castle to get into bmode... You should be allowed to toggle it on/off w/o going to anywhere off main, even just as part of gui. But you can't toggle until 12 hours passes, that way people have to deal with the decision they made, to go on or off. This won't affect wars, which are faught under kingdom bmode or kingdoms core, which also doesnt get affected.

Yes, why join a kingdom to enter battle mode ?

Nature2 04-20-2009 04:43 PM

There are to ways to "fix" it then.

1) Battle Mode for all, it doesnt require a kingdom to get into battle mode
(then there should be an extra symbol for no-kingdom players)

2) Battle Mode only for kingdon members, require a kingdom to get into battle mode.
(then you should go into peacefull mode when leaving the kingdom)

Hm, anyone should open a voteing for it ?

Craigus 04-20-2009 05:17 PM

Remove peaceful mode and have a few safe zones like the trade house, can let low levels have a peaceful mode.

Damix2 04-20-2009 05:22 PM

What about you stay in p-mode till a certain level and then enter b-mode.

Gives you a reason to level.

I'm all for this.

CABAL49 04-20-2009 07:44 PM

It would be nice if there was an area inside castles where you could fight members of your kingdom, for training purposes.

I agree, I want to fight members of my own kingdom but with the current sparing system we can't fight at full stats.

I prefer 1 for more action on GK :D

lordbosh 04-20-2009 11:19 PM

I'd vote for 1 as well, and play more.

Right now the reasons for logging in to play are limited:

- social interaction (but i did not pay to play a chat room, neither did most players).

- trading items (glass ceiling when you reach a certain point without USD. can expand the ceiling by adding more items, and ways of obtaining such items, which would be comparable in strength to existing powerful rare items.)

- leveling (glass ceiling when you reach a certain point, usually ~30+ in level. Need more monsters/dungeons to expand this ceiling higher to accommodate higher level characters)

-pvp (over 50% of the game does not enter battle mode for whatever reason, thus making this a limited option for gameplay)

Ravenblade1979 04-22-2009 12:08 AM

Then how about expanding on the bmode and making another type.

Kingdom Bmode: used for kingdom to kingdom battles. Added automatically when you join a kingdom and taken away automatically when you leave a kingdom. Kingdom bmode isn't like normal bmode so you can't be pk'd if its not a kingdom vs kingdom battle unless your also in normal bmode as well.

Normal Bmode: You don't need to be in a kingdom to turn this on or off. This should be made available at a location like MMT where you can go in and do it but limit this to say twice a week that way people don't just sit there turning it off and on. So Say i go on bmode in the MMT monday and to pmode on wednesday...after that second time I cannot turn bmode back on until the start of the following week.

DenoriZakarum 04-25-2009 09:22 AM

The way it used to be was in the snow mountains there was a bell you rang that toggled battlemode. The catch was that you could only use it every 24 hours. I would like that back =O

This.

Everyone should have the freedom to decide whether he takes part in pvp or not.
Seriously? I wouldn't like to run around fearing to be hunt down by oldbies with a giant load of items.

It's not my problem or the problem of any other player who wants to keep p-mode that there is nothing new else to kill :P

That's why it should mostly stay like this - maybe with the b-mode bell in MMT, I like that idea.

Then don't level past bmode level.

PVP is part of graal, and aside from events, questing, accumilating wealth and levelling, all of which have their limits, pvp is the only thing left to do. There won't be massacres as you might think, bmoders atm rarely have serious fights, and about item loss, well i'd suggest a kingdom bank of some sort, located in the capital of each kingdom's isle as there is no need for trials to access such a thing.

If a bank were to be introduced, i would like to see more items than just coins, diamonds, jewels, food etc. Dropped, probably all rings and amulets, and possibly clothing (for humour). That doesn't sound outrageous, no one would lose anything important if they just do what they do now, keep a nice amount of plat on hand, avoid dieing and keeping valuables safe.

kia345 04-25-2009 08:13 PM

I would love forced bmode after level, say, 30. If everyone was in bmode, then it's not like you'd be hunted down by someone @ level 110, because there would be more people for them to kill that are similar to their level. The only thing I'd want changed is dropped items. Clothing, diamonds, etc should be limited. Make only diamonds and coins droppable, and it should be based on how much you have (Diamonds being low priority (only dropping when you're out of coins) and the amount you drop should be based on how much you have (person with a lot of diamonds would drop more than the guy with only 12, who in turn would drop more than the guy with only 11)).

lordbosh 04-26-2009 11:05 AM

If there was bmode at all times after a certain level, you will have what we had last time.

3 groups.

targets - those who are hunted, for whatever reason
bad guys - those who hunt down people mercilessly for the fun of it
good guys - those who hunt down bad guys, and protect targets.

It was pretty fun. For years there was no place for targets to hide - we didn't have "no PK zones" back then. :)

Even targets used to 1 shot people with criticle wounds if you remember though, so they used to run through doorways and aim one at the door :D

Support enforced bmode, however i disagree with the whole dropping of items. I'd love for more items to drop, the amount dropped now, which is relative to ones level is also great. I do understand it would be controversial and it's another 'how would you like it if...?' thing, but most people have houses, which are easy to build, alot of people even share houses, so storing your valuables when you're low on plat and diamonds should become part of the game. I'm pretty tired of playing w/o fear.
