I agree; I also find the "10 minute" parking pretty pointless.

agreed. i can see it being used at the hospital, but no wheres else.

I suggest limiting each account to only one or two cars (was planned before) and I suppose towing cars which have been parked in the same spot for a week should be towed aswell (excluding parking garages and house garages).

This is true, but that's an awfully far walk to get to your car.

To add; in most cases, it takes longer to get to your car than it takes to get to your actual destination.

Hence why i dont even bother getting a car

that's why i think a server with cars should have a BIG gmap.

Oh I'm sorry elizabeth, I think I purchased 20 cars out of the store a while back and parked them arround era, but I'm not sure if they deleted some of my cars :P

I like the fact that there seems to be a shortage of parking spaces, makes the server seem less vacant and gives it a more realistic city feel. Check SR for parking places.

so players can be focused to one section of the gmap rendering 75[percent] of it useless and unused? yeah..

well, with a big map you have to find out a way to use it.......

Why are all the cars the same speed? I mean the deathstar car is just as fast as the cheerful speedster but the deathstar is more expensive. Also add more variety to cars like the batmobile and motocycles those were supposed to be finished along time ago.

I know the command is not available to non-global staff, but I towed a car of someone who hadn't been on ANY server, not even login, for nearly 200 days when I used /global find Account. (Perhaps it'd be nice if there were a local command for all server RC's to show the last time the Account of interest was last on THAT server)

I towed that car and freed up a space. I did that again for about 3 other cars, but it was because when I grabbed them, I KNEW those players had not been online for a very long time, so I checked their last activity.

I'm not sure, but isn't there some "last activity" something in the text files in the account folder?

As far as I am aware, Era doesn't utilise the accounts/* folder. Stefan disabled it many years ago. Either way, I just checked the accounts/* folder on my own server and it doesn't show anything regarding last login or activity.

parking spots on Era in no way relate to parking spots in a big city. parking spots irl are constantly being used and going vacant. the parking spots on Era are used long term. it's not like people are parking in front of the hospital so they can go in and heal and then come back and drive away. they leave their car there until they need it no matter where on the gmap they are.

Why not just make ALL parking places a max parking time of 7 days? If someone is inactive and didn't move his car in 7 days it gets towed?

or have spaces where you pay? =) and then people who has jobs like. Pyro tech for example they get a reserved parking sppot for employees only :P:P:P

Since it's nonsensical for people to permanently park in the streets (unless outside a residence), forcing people to park in Garages long term would be a better solution (and actually having a price tag for it)
