Why?

I'm making an assumption about your intent and am going to say I'm equally curious. It isn't deserving of the title.

Most of the Servers' names don't accurately describe it.

Classic's was intended to describe it, though.

Yeah, most server names are not "titles" either. In fact, not one of them are on upon glance.

Yes its really not classic any longer, I think a new name is in order!

I'm sure when a server was created, it's name was to describe it somehow. Classic was named 4+ years ago.

Iv already brought this up several times in other threads. I didn't get a response from anyone and didn't think anyone else cared.

It's insulting to what Classic was.

What do you think the server should be named as?

If it were to switch say back to "Graal the Adventure", some could argue "but the server isn't an Adventure", and obviously the server isn't Graal in its entirety anymore.

And more importantly,
do you think a server rename would benefit the server?

Anyways, can't think of anything off the top of my head. However it is like a different server now with similarities here and there. It was called "Classic" for a reason. Why keep it if the only reason it was named that no longer exists.

If i'm not mistaken wasn't there already an attempted Classic based server with this name long ago?

Also some people refer to Silmaria (old Graal museum Quest) as Nostalgia.

Wait till you have hookable content online. A server rename would bring an influx of new players.

I heard there was a server in the past named nostalgia. Don't know much beyond that, or even if it is true.

You could give it an actual name (like Delteria, Valkyria, Atlantis) which would be included in whatever plot you're going to implement.

On the other hand, you could make the server worthy of its current name, I'm pretty sure this would benefit the server.

There was a server called Setanta Classic, I think Taj took up the project to make his own version of Classic along with a few other Classic regulars.

I think you mean Sanstrata Classic wich was an old server that was on the playerlist for about a year. Not sure about Tajias version though.

Well thor, you really dont want to go back to GTA, because the server is no where near close to being an adventure. BUT, if you were to add to it now, make the story line, put all that up, have everything you want released released first, then think about changing the name, and then doing it, then you would probably get a significant amount of new players curious about our new name.

Impress them from the second they log on and you have a new playerbase sort of...

Classic, cus it's the base server of the game.
Fitting name imo. Pluss, you don't just change names like that.
Not sure if Coka Cola would sell as much if they changed their name to something like Black Soda.

Don't judge a book by its cover. A name really means nothing. It's whats behind the name that truly makes the name.

Now, advertising avoids this with catchy names or seemingly 'important' names, such as Burger King or Toys'R'Us. But unless you call a server "1337-land" (vast exaggeration), most people aren't going to be fooled by a name. Even if they are, if they find that the stuff behind the name is not up to par, they won't stay long.

Just because a book's title is "The Best Book Ever", doesn't mean it is, unless the content inside proves it.

It's called classic because it shows the roots of the game, and thus pays homage to the past.

But it's true, Classic isn't classic unless it lives up to the meaning of it's name.

Just like how Delteria isn't Delteria and how they need to get a new name because when they release I don't want to look at a Zodiac-esque server and call it that when it was my first home server.

New Delteria won't be Zodiac-esque. As a matter of fact calling anything Zodiac-esque is like an insult, atleast call it Maloria-esque or if you want to be politically correct Valikorlian-esque.

Last time I logged in there it just looked like some level with an early Final Fantasy looking town in it.

I grew up with Delteria. It was my home server. Now they're gonna ruin my Graal childhood.

You can never go home because even if nothing ever changed there, you have. It wouldn't ever be the same.
