Graphics Aren't Downloading
 

I've reinstalled and this problem still persists. I log on Era, walk around, and half the images don't load. I can't pinpoint which don't, it's random. For instance the Pyrotech sign and doors, trees, etc.

The tileset loads, and some random images load, but others do not.

No idea what's going on, I've restarted several times etc and still no go.

Try deleting filenamecache.txt and restart Graal.

Have you tried to re-download the files through Start --> Install Packages?

That's not a bad suggestion, but if Era doesn't have download packages for their images, that won't work :(.

The filenamecache is the most likely problem.

Oh, I didn't know that they didn't have a package download since I've never had this problem with Era.

Files directly download into your graal folder when they are activated on the server.

The moment I mentioned something similar to this to someone who was having trouble downloading through Graal to their computer, it started popping up alot.

It turned out that most people who had this problem were running Vista and had their Graal Folder in the "Program Files" folder, which in Vista is a Protected System Folder and would not let the Graal.exe file write anything at all to the subfolders. If you're using Vista, try moving your entire Graal Folder to a personal folder, then follow Tig's instruction of deleting FILENAMECACHE.txt, and restart Graal.

Alternatively, you could also grant yourself full permissions to the Graal Folder within the Program Files folder and leave it there, then delete FILENAMECACHE.txt anyway and try that out.

If this is not the case, and you are not running Vista/it's not in a protected system folder, just try Tig's step and reply here if it works or doesn't.

hehe this should be added to the wiki/the download site, also when i installed graal at my vista i didn't know that but i installed it on "My Documents", lucky hunch i guess ^^

Actually, I think that's now the default behavior for the installer (when installing on Vista).
