The NPC-Server is here to help
Why does the NPC-Server show up in the staff list? It serves virtually no purpose in the list on most servers, and on others, the systems could be rescripted to not use PMs to the NPC-Server.
It also seems quite confusing. Log on a server for the first time, "Hey, Mr. Era NPCs, how do I get a gun?" ... no response I realize you can remove "Server" from the staff guilds, but then he's floating around in the playerlist like another player. I think it would be best if there was a server option to remove him from the player list. |
A lot of servers use the NPC-Server for event systems, jailing systems (GP's PM the npc-server jail <account> so they don't need to have RC), and other uses.
The NPC-Server is also good for making announcements, etc. |

*Cough* Another "We should add ____" suggestion ahead *Cough*
Maybe an option that, by default is off, toggles the display of the NPC-Server on the playerlist while it's not actively handing out information candy. I did a mock-up playerlist idea a while back while thinking about how unorganised the playerlist options are, and added the option above to show your what I mean: |

I also agree with the idea, would be very nifty. |
