Y'know, I believe GK and Zone are both ran by people not associated with CJ. Isn't v4 the same as any other Graal version but with games such as Pool & Snooker to give players something else to do other than play events or spar on servers? Regardless, the iPhone has brought a lot more positive attention to Graal Online to introduce more players to the game.

Both of them started with Stefan "directing" them

The stopped 'working' (for lack of a better word) on Zone and really left it to Dan to work on v4, which actually brought us nothing, seeing as no one plays those mediocre skill games

You can't blame him for the route the staff have decided to take the servers down. Well, without considering players other than yourself I believe you'll find that a lot of players play the games.

They are now but they weren't supposed to be. And to be honest, Tig manages GK and he's part of the PWA. So that still leaves it with CJ.

Rufus 02-07-2009 04:19 PM

Updates of the iPhone servers that are Graal servers could go in their respective server sections. I think that having a forum dedicated for the iPhone servers themselves would be as useful as the GBA Graal forum was, killed when the fad is over.

By 'staff' you had better mean Stefan and his plans for the server, because it was him taking that route that led the server downhill.

That's due to a fairly recent event which led to Tig becoming a member of the PWA.

Yeah, I didn't mean an individual forum for each server just the one to cover everything relative to the iPhone & Graal Online.

So, to save a lot of the time and effort he shouldn't of made either of the servers just because of the state that they're both in at the moment?

Ok but your point about GK is wrong as it's still run by CJ.

Stefan traditionally managed both servers. He's supposedly still the manager of Zone, or atleast appears to be.

You're confusing v4 and v5.

You seem to be under the impression that the only difference between v3 and v4 was the addition of Skill Games. Skill Games was added to see how the games would work out since they planned on releasing them as iPhone applications. Adrenaline Poker is more or less the Poker on Skill Games, with a couple of modifications.

February 2008 - iPhone software developers kit (SDK) released
September 2006 - v4.1 Games released

I didn't know they were that ahead of the game! :megaeek:

CJ has nothing to do with either Zone or GK as far as I'm aware. Oh, I was led to believe that Dan were the manager of Zone not Stefan.

Despite whomever the manager is he still doesn't have the right to blame Stefan for the current state of either servers nor make pessimistic remarks towards the development of other projects led by Stefan.

Not really that far ahead of the game..Just because the developers kit isn't released doesn't mean they aren't starting plans.

Apart from the fact that CJ created GK and Stefan practically re-did Zone in terms of scripting? Apart from the fact that Stefan had managed Zone up until whenever it was Dan came into power?

I don't know if Dan is manager, but I think Dan works for CJ and Tig is PWA. Both of them are a part of CJ so, as a matter of fact, both servers are still CJ territory.

I highly doubt the Graal games or whatever they are called were intended to be released on the iPhone when they were first created and placed on Graal's login.

In spite of everything what has been said, he shouldn't blame Stefan for the steady decline of players from both GK & Zone.

He blamed CJ though, not Stefan. He only said that Stefan was managing them to associate them both with CJ. No biggie.

Both Zone and GK's playercount have risen when compared to where they were a year ago. I'm not sure what kind of steady decline you guys are talking about.

Probably the one from, like, 2005 until 2008?

I remember seeing ~100 players on GK, though, I've never played it myself

seems like a decline to me

In 2002-2004 GK's playercount was at a high of 80 people or so. Over time it steadily decreased because none of the staff paid any attention to it until it got as bad as only having an average of 5-8 people a day.

This was back around December, 2007 - February, 2008. It has slowly began gaining more players though.

I think we're getting off-topic though.

We are thinking of opening separate forums for the iPhone games at some time if it helps to gain more attraction for the games. It can also be interesting to open a special iPhone dev forum here to discuss iPhone-specific things since we plan to make it possible for people to create iPhone games, can't say exactly when that will be.

The people creating your content only get paid if you make a big enough profit?

It's not an occupation to makes levels or do graphics for Graal Online. I personally do it for fun!
