Jail Planet Yes/No?
 

Well Bigtime came up with a great idea of a Jail Planet which probably has already been brought to your attention. For those of you who don't know what a Jail Planet could be used for here are just a few of the many examples out there first you could send glitch abusers, people who are harassing (give em some where to cooldown) hackers and etc also I've noticed how easy it is to bypass graal's bans so you could IP ban and send them to the Jail Planet for the same period of time to stop the hackers just bypassing straight through the system and coming back to hack some more (just for the sake of it pretend it was a hacker you banned, it could be any other sort of abuse or for anything against the rules)
so anyway I thought Bigtime's idea for a Jail Planet was pretty good and thought i'd bring it up for the rest of you so discuss all you like and vote and stuff.

Other things have higher priority right now, but at some time yes I'd like to see this.

Supernanny, could you LAT something suitable? Preferably with the Lavacave Tileset ;]. We should give the jail people something to do. Add Bots With BPs and give the Jail People combatknives xD.

Also, Maybe the planet should be visit-able for players yes. They have to pay a little bit of cash ($10 or something) to enter the Jail, and they can laugh at the jailed people :)

Although I would like the idea of being able to visit them, what if there are hackers they could always just mouse warp their way through to dropship that way, so i would strongly recommend you not or hackers may just warp out, that is if you do decide to make the planet, also if you want to watch them suffer you could always add a TV or something showing them within the planet on every planet to watch simply press a on the TV and it will show you the map.

i imagine endless bot attacks for an hour with only a combat knife would be quite irritating after a while, maybe be super mean and give them electron or gravitron.

yes, however it will still give them something "fun" to do, when they should be in trouble...

they should have to sit somewhere and not be able to talk.....

nah, thats the reason i quit unholy nation, i should still have like 56 minuets in there jail.

maybe as uber punishments, so that they have to stay at their computer while in jail and not watch TV, the jail bots could add to deaths :)

Being locked and muted is much more a pain then that jail planet... Jail planet would be way funnier.

There is nothing worst than cannot play and cannot talk/pm.

Altough, this system could also have an add: Cannot set new nickname than Muted, so they cannot talk by setting theire nicknames.

Well I've been convinced that at this point in time zone has more stuff of higher priority which needs to be fixed before we start adding stuff, yes i thought it was a good idea when i made it but now i still think its a good idea, just not a really decent time to have it made.

Leave this thread up for discussion for future sakes and see how it turns out.

Funny I had this exact idea. Even had the levels made but it was never added.

I think you misunderstood what he was saying. He was saying that if made they should add script that wouldn't allow you to reset your nickname if you were put in the jail.

So instead of changing your nickname over and over to talk through it you would just only have "jailed" or something like that.

That is all he is saying.

Great idea :D jail time with bots all over the place and it adds to deaths ;) so for all the nubs who care about stats WATCH OUT :p I think you should give them no weapon. :D

I hate this idea, since the staff from know don't know the rules and dont know when to jail and when not.
To much innocent people will get jailed and if you make Jail instead of Lock it would be a to hard punnishment.

No to be truthful staff do have a high understanding of rules (its a reason they were hired) but its true that each and every staff has made mistakes but doesn't mean that they don't understand any of the rules. How would it be a to hard punishment? (do you mean harsh or hard?) because a lock is basically the ability to not play whilst jail is also a ability to not play and it will help maintain rules if it is more harsh then a lock because it will stop people from abusing glitches, hacks and other forms of breakage in the rules.

its more a case of the players dont know the rules and get all upset when the staff penolize them for reaking the rules. (and usually end up breaking rules more)

I mean, you're with everyone but you can't talk/ play with them. That's torture!

I would say that is pretty much torture but its for abusers who get banned, so if they manage to bypass it their account remains within jail where they can't receive pms, send pms, talk or change nickname, or play.

Actually scripts can prevent that from happening easily, If you try to warp out, it will warp you right back in, now if they were to actually warp like "warpto 30 30 start.nw" or something, then yeah they could get out like that, but I never have seen a hacker who can actually warp to levels on Zone.

But no, my opinion is, No, just because no offense to the Staff, but some of them I would not trust with a Jail, sorry, to point the finger but its mostly ETs, just because I have seen some of the new ones, and I wouldn't dare trust em' with that power, but I don't call the shots. I think if added, it should be a right like "/get", so you must acquire the right, so you can use it.

okay, if a jail planet is added, playercount is most definatly going to drop, and it's low enough as it is.
a lot of players play because you don't have a gp or staff trolling you on zone. you rarely get punished, and when you do, it's usually for hacking, or glitching, etc. adding a jail planet ruins it for everyone.
