Kingdom IRC Chat
 

I was thinking about how communication could be improved within the kingdom system mainly because guild messages can be limiting and ksay can get annoying if users spam with it. IRC Chat specific to each kingdom could help with the communications and can also be used by members in the kingdom who are not on kingdom tag.

I admit the chat could get confusing with all the account names but if the rank is displayed before the account as it does with ksay the problem won't be as bad.

If you set it up correctly, you could have everyone use their nicknames - like a regular IRC Chat.

Nicknames would be too long for the chat box.

I mean like set your own Nickname. For example, I use IRC for another game I play and I just have my nickname set as "Zeltino". Not "Commander Zeltino (Crescent Pirates). Just the name.

I think that we should have a chat box in the lower left hand corner just like in World of Warcraft where guild messages are in Green and players would talk regular with white text just like WoW. But also have the mass messaging system and PMs like we do with the F7 menu

I don't really mind how the chat system is done but the current kingdom chat systems are outdated and limiting.

Yes.. because World of Warcraft totally invented the whole "chat box in bottom left" thing. :rolleyes:

A decent idea though. But I hate chat boxes like that in games. I always turn them off. I prefer Felix's idea. I would use it for sure.

I've always liked the idea of a guild chat system, as well as a party chat system. I guess it's just a matter of determining how many people like the idea - this seems like a good place to mention it, if you're interested.

Having IRC Chats for kingdoms would make communication much easier than it is currently and could also be used when not on kingdom tag which is a bonus.
