My idea for Corporate Era

Hello Era,
My name is Gabriel Kuraiittou and here is my idea for Corporate Era:

1) Get the materials needed to create each item.
2) Spend over $100,000 on a special machine that will help manufacture this item.
3) To put items on the shelves you must have workers stock them using materials such as hammers, plastic (if the creation involves plastic) and other goods.
4) To put this finished material on sale it must first go through the 'Finished Checking' machine which costs over $50,000.
5) Then it's put on sale (in massive amounts).

There will also be machine malfunctions and cost money to fix it.

The point of this is to keep businesses in a sort of 'gray area' and try to keep them under regulation as possible.

I would like to hear what you have to say, I think that this idea will level out the playing field for Businesses in theory, but if not, what's your idea?

I like it, could have some more money sinks added to buisnesses or just have the machines slowly be worn down overuse and like repairs only get them running again, over time they would just stop completely and new ones would have to be bought, but a long time....

I am confused in this idea. WHere would this idea come into work? like anyplayers? or a buissness that a player owns

Pelikano 01-03-2009 03:31 PM

I'd say just bring the little player shops which you could buy for 20k back after the reset..

Nataxo 01-03-2009 08:10 PM

I like this idea. I had something similar in mind =P

just do add:

perhaps remove all the player-owned shops + houses and make private buildings useful for whatever purpose you want them. you could buy a small building and make it your.... pizza shop? and if you're tired of pizza shop you can turn it into your house. etc.

just throwing some ideas ^^

I like your idea, would there be taxes involved as well / rent?

Hmmm, sure! in this idea if you want your place to become some sort of store you would need to send a ticket to Eras Town Center for them to approve it. (an agent wuld go to the place and invistigate it)

Those ideas are all good on paper but either your going to have a lot of identical levels or there going to cause a lot of development work, It would be maybe something to release after the release so LAT's can actually have something to do and have a purpose.

to make it easier, I vote for identical leves. Why not? and maybe if you got $$$ you can hire a LAT to make some adjustments to your "house" or "shop" w/e

Now you put weight on Crow or Tig they have to come up with a completely new housing system.

No, It's their choice to adopt the idea or not.

you people think way too complex.
it sounds good on paper but I guarantee the system will fail if implemented

also @ sam, those player shops ruin the economy.

Not if they're implemented right. If you make them cost enough money to produce their items, then they have to actually work with supply and demand to keep prices low enough to compete with NPC businesses. The way they were implemented before, a person could buy one for 40k, pay workers 100g a week to mine thousands of lead, and make a bunch of ammo boxes that they could sell for 1g a piece that have a production cost of like .01g a piece, and then make millions off it.

Nataxo 01-04-2009 12:31 AM

Amsel is right. If this is implemented there should be a group of... "Economists" that look closely how its developing. So they gather opinions/discuss and make the best decisions. (like Meph =P)

Hey, no need to make slams here, Meph is a great guy and is still learning. He's smart enough and will do fine in any positions you give him, and he doesn't take favorites. I think more people will see that down the road.

Nataxo 01-04-2009 12:43 AM

That wasnt my point about meph but of what he does, balance weapons to fit in the economy.
