Quarter 1 Updates

1 Attachment(s)
Graal Kingdoms has been updated today with an array of necessary improvements. This will be one of many "quarterly updates" which will contain improvements for Graal Kingdoms.

This update included:
  • New stats added to wands & exclusive stat 'casting time' to help balance them.
  • New party GUI, can be seen by joining a party. Mages/Healers can select a member in the party GUI and if you're using a wand it will automatically target the person you've selected, which is good for quickly healing.
  • Follow system, if you right click a member of your party in the GUI you can click "Follow" your player will automatically follow that person.
  • Hotkey map, can be accessed by clicking on the "shop" and the clicking the "Hotkeys" button.
  • New lamp particles & script, to give it a smoother look.
  • Aengus Bow was fixed & released.
  • Ogma Orc Helmet was fixed (has graphics now, thanks SuperCornGuy)
  • New players will now start with basic gear when you choose your class in the start up house. This will make it easier for new players to fight monsters.
  • Trade tables have received several changes. Trials can now use trade tables, but it costs 3 plat to open a trade table instead of trading. You can cancel your trades if you accidentally click the green flag instead of removing all of your items from the table. If you accidentally accept a trade there is a 3 second wait time before the trade is complete which will enable you the chance to cancel the trade. If the opposite side of the table has clicked the green flag it will no longer disable you from adding new items to the table, it will simply cancel the other side. You can cancel your green flag by clicking the red flag. If your green flag isn't accepted and you click the red flag it will remove you from the table.
  • You can no longer hurt other members of your party.
  • Assortment of other improvements.

Below I attached a picture where you can see me wearing the ogma helmet, using the aengus bow and the party GUI. You can also see the lamps, but it's better if you see those in person ;)

Shouldn't it be "Quarter 4 Updates"?

Well, I thought about that too, but no because this is the new years/ish update and the first of our updates.

Draenin 12-20-2008 07:15 AM

Googi's actually right. It would be Q4. And before you re-correct me, remember that there's a such thing as Wikipedia and an 'Edit Thread' button, which enables you to change the title of this thread. ;}

shrimps 12-20-2008 12:49 PM

Q1 as in First quarter update, and 3 months new update? Doesn't necessarilyhave to follow with the month, just the time per quarter?

Soala 12-20-2008 01:24 PM

Very nice party GUI and updates ! :)

knightfire35 12-20-2008 03:34 PM

I haven't tried it yet, but I will certainly be logging on sometime soon. Great job.

shrimps 12-20-2008 03:38 PM

Play with the follow system, best thing on Graal. It's so much fun to play with. =D

Rufus 12-20-2008 03:47 PM

The news on login for this is absolutely stupid. It doesn't give any information, the picture is ambiguous (and huge) and it doesn't even link to this thread either. Come on Tig.

I'm afraid the news update was rushed out - Stefan was leaving when it was released.

The update was actually planned for today but had to be pushed back to yesterday since Stefan is leaving for a two week vacation. Please be understanding.

shrimps 12-20-2008 03:53 PM

Yeah, I told Tig that also, there should have also been link to Forums thread or the info on updates which Tig posted here IMO.

That's fair enough, but it really wouldn't have taken much to link to the thread or to have waited :noob:

We didn't consider it at the time - it was produced in about five minutes due to Stefan's schedule. We can't edit it for two weeks because no one else can approve news feeds. >_<

Ibonic can I believe so you might want to try him.

Anyway the updates sound fun and the party GUI looks nice. Good job.

We did consider that but at the time there was no thread and Stefan had to leave because it was very late for him.

The quarterly depends on what your going by, The US starts the fiscal year in October so actually this could be considered an early release if you went by that type, or used your own start

CABAL49 12-21-2008 06:57 AM

I don't see how this quarter starts really matters. We got updates that didn't screw up the server, and have a general idea when to expect new ones. Isn't this what we have been *****ing about getting forever?

xXziroXx 12-21-2008 04:50 PM

You suck for not making lights check for light/particleeffectsenabled. There's no excuse not too :/

kia345 12-21-2008 04:55 PM

Next update right here

Seriously, take your *****ing elsewhere because we dont want to ****ing hear it. You dont even play on Graal kingdoms anymore and when people ***** about the stupidest **** like you are you need to just be thrown into a damn fire. Learn some respect, I don't even like Tig because of some **** in the past, however Im not sitting here saying he sucks and all that crap like you are. At least when I present an argument I still maintain respect, didn't your parents teach you that?

You need to calm down. He was nothing like you interpreted it as he was pointing out that it needs to be used, and its better to use it in his opinion, or he was joking about using it. Either way he had to have either logged on the server or logged on debug to figure out they didn't use something...Or he could have talked to someone. Also you are worse then Z where he pointed out something that should be done you chose to flame it with a post thats most likely going to be edited or deleted

What the ****, take a ****ing chill pill. Tig knows me well enough to not take my "You suck" comment offensive, in fact, I'd be offended if he did. Just because I don't play Kingdoms regularly doesn't mean that I shouldn't point out flaws, and people with crappier computers (mine might be able to handle it, but still) WILL turn away when they get lagged to death by light effects that forcefully display even though they've selected them not too.

If you want to be a stuck up *******, take it elsewhere, dude.

Crono 12-21-2008 06:04 PM

hey ******* **** come **ing on now guys ***** man

Sorry, there was detection for lights on lamps but not for the particles, is there anything else that needs detection added? Please let me know.

As far as I can remember, only lamps in general (buildings, outside, ships etc.) suffer(ed) from poor detection. I'll let you know if I notice anything else ^^

* Light effects from table lights.
* Smoke puffs from those inside lights made out of gray rocks... thingies... found in insidemain_pub1_2.nw and pretty much every where else.

Ziro_of_the_Turks 12-21-2008 09:56 PM

O****... are you guys finally getting rid of all them little annoying bugs that don't really interfere with gameplay (except when you get stuck in corners and ****) and make the game look very unprofessional?

Sounds good.

shrimps 12-22-2008 03:48 AM

How about the effects from bullet?

He updates the game and this is the first thing we give him grief over? Wait what? That shouldn't make sense, but unfortunately does.

MajinDragon 01-02-2009 08:33 PM

The crypt still needs alot of work, especially the boss. I'd like to see this tackled by the next Q updates.

Also theres a great suggestion i just made to the avatar system, take a look see :p
