Poll about proximity mines

Invisible or Visible?

DustyPorViva 11-05-2008 01:04 AM

Blinking light at two-second intervals.

Huwajux 11-05-2008 01:13 AM

Visible. Hiding them was so much fun and made you feel like you really outsmarted the enemy when you saw someone blindly walk into one and then just explode.

yeah, in alpha, trees and barrels where my proximine hotspots >: D

Dante55555 11-05-2008 01:46 AM

Tucking them in the barrels at base 1 was a blast.

DustyPorViva 11-05-2008 01:54 AM

Oh, and there is always the possibility of setting their transparency to like .25 or such.

DeathOfRa 11-05-2008 02:26 AM

I am totally for visible proxies. Make them blink.

Nataxo 11-05-2008 02:34 AM

make the enemy mines appear in a "redish color" and friendly mines in a "greenish color" with midedetector.

its preety annoying that when you use minedetector you r not sure if the're friendly or enemy mines...:(

doyouskate 11-05-2008 02:55 AM

It would defeat the purpose of mine detector then.

xplain...:)

jkool666 11-05-2008 03:00 AM

These types of mines are supposed to be hidden under mounds of dirt and such, why don't we do that?

Mine Detector can still be enabled and show a clear view of where the mines are. But without mine detector on you can still spot mines (not as easily) from small mounds in the ground?

I like this.

>>>>>invisible proxyes
>>>>proximines are proximines.
>>if they are visible its not more proximines.

>>land mines are already visible.
>and dont forget DANTE, you are the PROXY KING!

:pluffy:
:fro:

Liberated 11-05-2008 12:33 PM

visible was much more fun, altough i never had money to buy them, it was easier to evade. you can't expect someone to run arround as a defender all day to see mines, maybe more classes should get mine detector?

Visible FTW btw

Schetti 11-05-2008 04:13 PM

Another thing about prox, how often do You run into a proxmine and you were killed by (unknown)?
that happens often to mee, so It would be fine if I can see em a Bit
visible mustnd be, but the idea with the dirt is awsome.

Jesper 11-05-2008 04:38 PM

Give they the same effect as the Stealth card !

Elizabeth 11-05-2008 05:28 PM

i voted visible

RevolutionJS 11-05-2008 05:42 PM

Hmm I hate proxmines.
So make them visible.
But also I readed to that some one had a suggestion to make visible and invisible ones, But the viseble ones are just cheaper.

jurre24d 11-05-2008 08:19 PM

unvissible,

That is prox mine.. Then you can call it just bikemine or what else.

Crono 11-05-2008 08:29 PM

Visible.

Hahahah, made me laugh so hard. I think he is trying to say "Invisible. They would just be bikes mines"

lol i haz halpeded u?

Desear 11-06-2008 05:04 AM

Invisible, stop complaining, it balances things out, making people sacrifice speed, for the ability to use Mine Detectors, and as a bonus, players use other classes, honestly without Proxies, and Mine Detector I may have never used Defender and Grenadier as much as I did, finding out fun they can be. But this is just my opinion.

jkool666 11-06-2008 05:12 AM

If my sudgestion isn't to be considered...

Invisible.

It just doesn't make sense to have completely visible mines.

compared to the majority of zones weapons, visable proxmines makes a lot of sence.

DarkRenji 11-06-2008 05:21 AM

I think most of you just want them visible because of how annoying they are...

But there really ment to be invisible because they are underground

bahamutstevetff 11-06-2008 05:42 AM

i want them visable because there less cheap yet more fun to use, theres no challenge in laying a mine in the middle of a map and waiting for some unsuspecting player to walk over it and die.

Schetti 11-06-2008 09:25 AM

I voted YES, like most.
But if they are still invisible, I don't care lots too. You just have to die once or see how another in your team is dying by prox, go to dropship, switch class and done.
The only problem with minedetector is that you cant see wich mines are from your team, what we allrdy talked above.
You can't use jetpack too, but that shouldnt be a problem for a skilled player.

Jesper 11-06-2008 05:34 PM

Its 50/50.

SO GIVE THEM THE SAME EFFECT AS THE STEALTH CARD !

RevolutionJS 11-06-2008 05:42 PM

Its 10-13 So make them invisible :D

Soala 11-06-2008 05:42 PM

Noway, they should stay invisible, because you sure get pwned when you just run over them, but anyway, that's still a way to kill, and they should stay invisible (+ It's funny), or people on bases would just use jetpack to fly over them, and get bases control easier.
It's a hard game remember, nothing has to be like "There is still a solution"

Nope.

the game was more interesting when they where visable, it was more funny when people got owned by a prox hidden behind a tree or barrel :P

Yes it does, unless your player digs them.

Then planting a mine should take a while and shouldn't be possible on hard ground.

Rufus 11-06-2008 06:49 PM

How about you have different types of mines like on Goldeneye 64!
- Timed Mines
- Proximity Mines
- Remote Mines

This has nothing to do with the visability, but I think they should show. Maybe not obviously, but they should still show it doesn't make sense to me when I step over a mine and it says "OOPS FRIENDLY MINE BE CAREFUL!" I'm like "wth?" as I didn't see anything.

whats the point when you already have mines that go off only when its definitly going to hit someone. :P

Timed mines could be used for quick solutions to problems, people chasing you, enemies coming towards the bases, etc. Remote mines you have control over when they explode. Proximity mines could be the rarer mine, and require you to actually step on them to get hurt, in contrast to the timed and remote which catch you within the area of explosion or go off when triggered.

I'd prefer it invisible, or something like this.

Dante55555 11-06-2008 11:40 PM

I like the blinking red dot idea.

DustyPorViva 11-06-2008 11:51 PM

Could someone post the proximity mine graphics?
