Rudora
 

It might seem that I've been neglecting Rudora or that it's disappeared into the woodwork, but I've been working on the server behind the scenes with a select few other people. Anyway, I don't really know how realistic this is but I'd like to have Rudora released hopefully either by or just after Christmas.

Rudora is a classic-style server that aims to renew everything that Rudora was when it was released the first time around. Rudora was often criticised for having very little actual gameplay, so we've been working on adding new events, quests and jobs, as well as introducing ways for players to interact with each other, such as market stands and hat trading. The scripted aspect of Rudora has taken a complete overhaul with entirely new systems, making it easier for us to introduce new items and content.

The only problem is our development force. Currently we're lacking in people who can help bring the server to the Classic tab once again. So, I'd like to hire a few more people to help out. I'm looking mostly for scripters and levellers, and if it comes to it, I may eventually hire someone for graphics. The sort of people I am looking for are those who can produce good work that matches the existing Rudora style (log on and walk around if you are not sure what that is) and are also capable of working by themselves, spontaneously, if needs be. In terms of scripting, you must be able to adapt to the existing scripting style and systems that are already in place, and create new scripts of a high standard, including those for events, quests and jobs.

Fixed the images in the post; seems that the problem was that I had attached images to a post that most forum users do not have access to.

The levels looks outdated, I think it's the same levels as before (like 5 years ago)?

What makes this server original compared to let's say... Unholy Nation or Classic?

I've always loved Rudora, and I was one of the "core players" last time it was on the Classic list. Best of luck Skyld! :)

I'm curious. I remember that I was on Rudora (many years ago) and it was pretty much dead. It looked like a cool server, but I never really got the chance of playing it so I don't really apprehension/picture of it.
I can see that it's a classic themed server, but whats special with Rudora compared to other server? (Even if it might sound like i'm asking this in a offensive way, it's not ment like that. I'm just curious.)

I normally sign mine (even negative) but I don't bother anymore. Certain people make it worthless with messages like, "lolfail".

I agree. I, myself, am not truely bothered about reputation. It's just when I get rep, I'd like to know who it is. Reputation should be automatically signed.

Just as much as I completely did not have the time to hit my Christmas target, I decided to post a quick update in the hope that I can get a lot more done now that I have more free time. I've been working more recently on fixing up some of Rudora. I've cut down the size of the overworld so that it is easier to manage (although if I ever get it released, I will work on readding the parts of the overworld that I cut out). I also added a new ratings system and have been working on a couple of quests. If anyone is interested in helping me level and script some more quests, events or jobs, let me know. Good all round knowledge of GScript2 required for scripting positions, experience with classic tileset required for level positions. [email protected]
