Transfering png images
Ok i have a problem transfering png images to editor, and overall my server. Now i can get gif images to work properly but png images work sometimes but most of the times it doesnt work. Any reason to why that is? Can you tell me how to fix this enigma?

Hmm.. Really interesting!
Try to open photoshop, and open your Png files, then hit ''Save As'', Then, choose how you'd like it. If GIFs work properly to you, transfer it to .Gif. That's the way I can see this... Hope this helped. |
I dont have believe i have photoshop on this computer..i use paint for my images, if you transfer them to gif, the color of the image is reduced and it makes the image look a little "worse". Now i did do the save as on the paint and that save worked properly and still no luck. I loaded up a already working png image out of the images folder, saved it as a png under another name and it no longer showed up in editor. Any other suggestions? (Btw, sorry about that other thread, i overlooked this one thinking i didnt send it. Music must have thrown me off while i was skimming)

use the browse button to locate the image instead of just typing the name in.

Don't really have time to explain much about transparencies, pngs etc so here's a small fix. In your Graal folder, if you've downloaded the development tools pack from when you login (assuming you have as you have the level editor) there is a program called Gif2Mng. Drag your gif files into the program icon, then it should turn produce a png file in the same folder as the gif was in. The png files should work online and in your editor.
PS look for some tutorials on transparency and free software for that purpose. There's a sticky in this forum for all that junk. |
Ok, im going to do this now.

Okay.
Hmm I'm trying to think. Would Jpg work? I think this would help it, if it works. While turning to Jpg, it mostly keep all the quality. If it dosen't work, try to figure out what could be rong with your Png files. I beleive there could be a process error at a certain point. (Note: delete your othere thread please.) |
The editor only supports 16-bit PNGs. You need to make sure that your PNGs are saved as 16-bit, and not 32-bit.
