Warning on the computer ID lock (protect) on accounts.
There obviously needs to be a warning on the PC ID protection. As far as I've heard, there is none.
Too many accounts are being held hostage by computers breaking down, emails getting canceled, hacked, etc, all kinds of things. A lot of people are apparently too quick to think about the consquences of the PC ID lock, and that's their fault entirely, but honestly losts accounts are beginning to get too common an issue. Something like WARNING: If your computer breaks or email is comprimised you will not be able to release the lock or however the system works, I'm not quite sure of it myself other then what people have told me- just something that warns the player and possibly explains what they can do to unlock their account so they know what they're getting into. |

I disagree, I like this system. I have a solid email that I know will not be cancelled, and I doubt my computer will be breaking down anytime soon. Even if it does, I can add the new computer's PCID.
|
Why do you disagree with letting players know what they're getting into? The good and the bad..
I'm not saying to take down the system, as it has it's benefits, but players need to be aware of what can happen if they aren't prepaed when they protect their account. |

I agree it should be stated what to do if you need to change it.

How many people have their transcation ID, honestly?

Whenever someone try to lock on your game accout, you'll get an e-mail and you have to confirm that this PC is permitted to log on your game account. In case of an e-mail hack you need to do a support-ticket and prove that it is your account by sending the Transaction ID. |
Yea, but does that say that before you agree to protect your account?

You need to prove things like this your whole life, not only on graal. Quote:

People like myself and Inverness do not have our trans ID, so if we happened to be like (prepare for a completely hypothetical situation) "Cool! I can protect my account to my computer!", and some freak accident happens, we'll end up "WTF WE CANT USE OUR ACCOUNTS ANYMORE", only to get a response "Trans ID?". If we knew what we'd have to go through to get our accounts back in case of epic tradgedy, then it's purely our faults because the information was right in front of us.
Basically, if someone sees they'd need their trans ID as result as twisted event, and they do not have it, they hopefully are smart enough not to protect their account to their computer if they do not wish to risk losing their account for good. |

In my opinion, there is no excuse for not having the transaction ID.
It's just common sense to save it. It's no different then saving a receipt for anything you pay for. |
I only save receipt for things with insurance on. But I do agree with Darlene about saving the transaction ID, if you didn't, you're the blame and no one else.
|
I'm sure parents save the transaction ID when they buy a Graal account for their child

However, I was able to get my email changed without it because I have an active subscription, I've been using my two PCIDs for several years, and I had access to the original email (my dad's). |

I spammed a support ticket with jail history records (primarly jail evasion records that connected my accounts or logs that said I own this or that account) that proved I owned the accounts, staff testimonies (primarily from the Manager of UN who knew I owned them), but they still wanted the trans ID even though my large ticket pretty much proved I owned the accounts ;o |
Don't visit graal hacking sites and you shouldn't have to worry about your account getting stolen in the first place.

I guess what he's trying to say is state a warning that if anything happens and you need to remove the PCID lock that you need to present your transaction ID for the account.

guys, I had a radical new idea that nobody has ever thought of -
account security questions. |

You can't hold Graal responsible when you lose something you were supposed to keep. |
Well, why exactly is there not an option to change your email or password via the website, while you're logged on? Or even through the client? It's odd that they'd opt out of an automated system. Even the smallest of browser-based games have automated things like that.

Why the hell is it not possible for the users to take care of their account, transaction ID e-mail accout etc? Cyberjoueurs is not responsible if someone get hacked, lose their PW's or what ever. |

It's the player's responsibility to respect the rules and to not lend or give out their account, therefore they are responsible for their actions. I can understand making support harder for those people (or even none at all) but to penalize every single player? It's stupid. |

I don't understand the big deal about account sharing. Take Blizzard for example, their policy for WoW is that if you give out your account information to someone else, Blizzard will not help you out if that person does anything bad too it. They also have, unlike Graal, a security question/answer you can fill out to claim ownership of the account in case your oh-so-trustworthy friend changes the accounts password or anything.
