jetpack

i wish there was a way that you could kill people with the jetpack. its just annoying that every time you equip it its like "kills: 0". it discouraging

pooper200000 08-22-2008 05:39 PM

*Burns Elizabeth with jetpack flames*

It might be fun if jetpacks could malfunction sometimes. :O

Donark 08-22-2008 05:49 PM

I forget who but someone posted a pic and they had 1 kill with jetpack and was #5 in the stats... It could of been photshoped but w/e.

No it was not photoshopped.
For example, I'm #1 with chaingun. If I put on chaingun and switched quickly to jetpack, the #1 text still lingers a bit longer. I'm not sure why it does that, it just does.

It still said 1 kill though? How did they get the kill with jetpack?

If it was the 1 kill, then it was editted.

A trazebomb??? Do you mean *tazebomb?

And how would a tazebomb give a jetpack kills?

MagikMasterMind 08-22-2008 08:12 PM

Tazes adds kills to other items, by example:
You get a kill with candyReapers/Knife
Pull out a taze and kill someone with it. It will give you stats for the last item used for a kill.

And I don't like the idea. How can it be discouraging to have 0 kills with jetpack? Jetpack was made to make it easyer travelling around, going over walls. Not to kill. There is a way to kill with jetpack but it is glitching and it dosen't add any kill to your jetpack.

Elizabeth 08-22-2008 08:22 PM

because everytime i look at it im like I FAIL. i have 0 kills with it ]:

Has I think, everyone has 0 kills with it, and how can you think you ''fail'' if it's a transport tool?

AHH! I Fail, I have 0 kills with white flag! HALP!

See what I mean?

Elizabeth 08-22-2008 08:55 PM

no. you dont get it. the fact that is has the kills status there is stupid, and should be removed. i wouldnt be so discouraged if it wasnt there

Shadow5596321 08-22-2008 09:19 PM

You can get JP kills on GW, When someone glitchs on to the water that explodes, You land near them with a jetpack i think you get a kill with it.

Please stop digging yourself a deeper grave. It's just the jetpack, it is there for increasing mobility across various terrain, it isn't there to kill people with and I highly doubt you break down and weep everytime you see the 0 kills pop up.

Elizabeth 08-22-2008 09:27 PM

i never said that i break down and weep everytime the 0 pops up. i said i get discourgaged when it happens because i dont like seeing 0 as my kills number.

Shadow5596321 08-22-2008 09:31 PM

Then don't look at it?

Elizabeth 08-22-2008 09:37 PM

sorry i cant help but notice that theres an enemy where it is and im trying to see the enemy

Shadow5596321 08-22-2008 09:41 PM

Two different storys? Unless you mean you try and run away from an enemy. Then i suggest your radar.

Uh, how can you be discouraged when you know that it is impossible to kill with?

Crono 08-22-2008 09:43 PM

It's unprofessional for it to say kills on an item that doesn't kill...

And it's pointless to complain over an items kills that doesn't kill. :/

Whether the item's kills are kept track of or not is not what's being discussed here. I also don't see how complaining about "it" would be pointless if you basically just agreed that it's unprofessional.

I said no such thing! I don't think it really matters if the kills are there or not.
It's pointless to complain about something so minor. I mean, of all things?! To choose this..
Come on now, there are plenty of sensible things she could complain about. This is a waste of a thread imo, but whatever. (No offense to Elizabeth..)

And I doubt she was thinking about how professional it looked, it obviously just influenced her thinking negatively, "it makes me discouraged".

Elizabeth 08-22-2008 10:21 PM

You sure did. You didn't say my post was wrong, you just said "And" which means you were only expanding on what I was posting.

There are a lot of people like me who pay attention to the very small details, and things like this get to us.

Yeah but would they be easier to fix?

That doesn't mean I agreed, just that I'm lazy. ^^
I pretty much said the exact opposite of what you said, which means I didn't agree, AT ALL.

Yes, those people are called "picky."

Probably not, but it would be time well spent.

Crono and Elizabeth are right.

Plus, if it's so small a detail why doesn't it just get a small fix.

Sure, it means we don't accept trash even in small quantities. It's not so bad because it's very easy to fix.

Fixing this minor issue will not take much of Stefan's time, I'm sure. Most of Zone's problems are large-scale and have no quick fixes.

With the way Zone has gone, it's anything but professional. E.G. A hideously recoloured map (GW dropship) which is exactly the same as the CTF dropship but with the tileset changed, staff members who are about 9 years of age with no past experience on record and perhaps the vast amount of weapons which haven't been correctly tested to ensure a fair fight among all players; paying or not.

Easier to fix, yes. However it is questionable as to why someone would pay such a large amount of attention to a minor fault in the game when the game itself is just one big lump of faults. Which is what we're discussing.

This does not mean that you should in any way change your own standards and opinions based on how bad things are around you. For example, LATs on Graal have gone backwards since 2004 or so, but I do not change my own opinions on what's good or bad based on how bad things are around me.

Zone has gone downhill and became highly unprofessional ever since Vulcan disappeared from it/quit/whatever, I agree 100percent.

You start small and work your way up to the bigger issues.

Well if Zone is going to get itself out of this grave that it has dug itself, which is nearing the center of the Earth, they are going to have to work on the problems which need addressing the most. Once the huge problems have been sorted out they can start fine-tuning the little bugs here and there to make the game appear more polished. However, you believe it should be done the other way around and I can't argue with that since it is purely your opinion.

And yes, Zone needs to get rid of certain...individuals and hire someone who's up to the job. I'm not referring to myself because Zone has lost any charm that it possessed now that it has been abused into being a cash cow which is being milked for all its worth.

The Zone staff isn't that organised, whatever gets a lot of stick from the players is what they work on. Even then they usually ignore the players and go off and do their own thing whether the players approve of it or not.

Shadow5596321 08-22-2008 11:54 PM

I believe Dan was working on some bugs and KDS said that Stefan took that right away.

I'm not totally 100% here though.

Heh, the Zone staff are running about like headless chickens. If one tries to restore order some random event takes place which screws them all over, ergo this continues the vicious cycle.

I don't know man, 5 minutes is sure a lot of precious time to fix such small things! Until then I'll continue staring at my jetpack kills.

You see, this is where our thoughts on how things should be done clash. I'm not going to continue this any further because it will be pointless. I feel larger problems should be tackled first and the smaller ones should be ironed out later, you feel that the staff should work their way up by starting with the minute issues to begin with and deal with the larger scale problems later.

How is that contradicting myself? I thought it was pretty clear that I didn't agree with what you said. Maybe you should pay a little more attention, no?

The jetpack itself is not trash, so theres no reason arguing over it.

Mygod, Stop nitpicking.

And to say you don't accept "trash," well.. look around?

*hides* ^^

I personally would rather fix the large scale problems first, than run around playing with the minor things that don't affect gameplay in the least.
