Mousing Icon

I know there is bigger problems in Zone right now like base laming but
this is'nt a big suggestion. I was just thinking it would be a nice update to see happen.

Anyway,

It gets anoying when players call me a mouser.
It also gets anoying when mousers deny mousing.

I was thinking when you right click a player it somewhere has a box checked if they are mousing, and unchecked if they are not mousing.

It could look something like this.

P.S.
Don't make fun of my stats, I know there terrible. xD

Why does it matter if you use the mouse or not?
So you want to know if someone uses mouse so you can.. harass them ?

Thats not what I really had in mind...

You shouldn't care if people harrass you. Just ignore them and keep playing.
We don't need this.

If only everyone thought like this... Waste of time idea, sorry Donark...

Honestly, how much of an advantage does mousing pose...? I find mousing more trouble than its worth and besides, if someone mouses its just another way of fighting... It doesn't mean your "skills" are superior. And think of the ENORMOUS lag this would create and the things perverted noob wold do ^^

Enormous lag caused by adding an icon which is updated when people use the mouse to shoot? lolwat

Take playerworld90 for example. They added mouse icons visible to all players. This created lag because the NPC server was constantly changing they mouses X,Y, cordinates for all players. I'm sure someone smart would come up with a better script, so you do have a point, but im just throwing it out there that a mouses cordinates would be behindf where the host computers mouse would be. Annnd.... I just reread the post and now understand that im a complete retard. I was under the impression that we were making the mouses location visible to all players. O.o But know I think the idea is even worse.
(No Offense)

As Chris previously stated, lolwat?

Displaying a clientsided image with index less then 200 (thus making it visible for everyone in the level and not just the current client) on the players mouse position would cause zero lag. Even Zodiac have a function to enable/disable showing a flashing image on their mouse position on the interface.

I repeat... lolwat?

alexrox222 07-08-2008 01:15 AM

Well, don't go telling me it didn't make it lag. It did, and as a result PW90 staff immediatly fixed it. I really spend 0 time adressing script so I only know what i've been told. What kind of person would I( be to waste my life doing that? Also why spout on me because of a mistake? Theres a difference between helping adress the issue by confronting a post and just plain *****ing. Lol jk about scripting thing, lets see how many people i piss off !

xXziroXx 07-08-2008 01:27 AM

I was trying to point out that it's impossible for a system to lag like that, IF the person who made it know how to script. From what you're telling us, it sounds like they had a billion of triggers to serverside from clientside to update images created on serverside, when instead they could have used indexes below 200 on clientside to begin with.

pooper200000 07-08-2008 02:01 AM

Okay, to be on topic.

I don't see why you need, or anyone else for that matter, to know if someone uses the mouse. All I can see coming out of this is players left clicking other players and saying,"NU I NO SPR U! U MUOSE!"

Honestly if you don't like it that people mouse, or that people call you a masser, you need to ignore it.

Did you say that people who learn to script are wasting their life?

Of course not ^^

xXPoodlesXx 07-09-2008 12:57 AM

i dont get it.... one would think that using mouse is detrimental to fighting because ur mouse would be flying all over the place....and... if u use the arrow keys to move then u have to coordinate even harder when fighting because the mouse isnt connected to the keyboard...it would be like fighting with a ice cannon...or a rocket launcher that flies straight...u would have to line up ur shot perfectly only to be foiled by the enemy moving......even if players are mousing it dont affect me cuz they dont kill me...so i vote no. sry donark.

Displaying the kind of controls you are using might be interesting. If you have mouse shooting enabled it doesn't mean that you are actually shooting with mouse though.

Ravenblade1979 07-09-2008 05:09 PM

Step1:
*checks player x's profile and see's that he mouses*

Step2:

"Hey you mousing noob."

Step3:

*Raven gets a message from player x saying that people are harassing him for being a mouser*

get the picture? This is what will happen (not sure about step 3 but am gathering it will too)

SolidSnake989 07-09-2008 07:29 PM

Idea: Don't ****ing deal with it, Say "Oh well" or better yet. Act like AFK you do most of time so people think your important.

Elizabeth 07-09-2008 07:30 PM

Not such a bad idea, but it wouldnt really matter if you moue or not. If you did mouse which Im saying you didnt, no onewould be able to stop you from doing it.

Deal with it, you were expected to be able to handle these situations when you were offered the job.
