Link to the forum rules

You know, the forum rules are not that easily accessible.

It's come to the point in my grand Graalian life that I have to reread the rules thoroughly each time I post... and it's a pain that I have to navigate through a subforum before I can open them. Sure... I could bookmark the rules, but I'm pondering even the forums taking up a slot for a bookmark, yet alone the retarded rules.

Anyways, rules should(and I don't know why this isn't so in the first place) be placed at the top toolbar... you know, remove something and make space. Need suggestions? Well, there's the Projects link... no one uses that. FAQ? Does anyone need a FAQ for a forum anymore? Members List that we're not even allowed to use. There's also a Calendar that's provided for looking at all the birthdays of members that aren't even here.

So ya... read this post. Disregard it, and perhaps come back to it in a few years and implement it as your own idea.

Elizabeth 06-21-2008 08:22 PM

Yes to both. I guess he doesnt like the extra clicks of his mouse to read them from the main forum

Well to my knowledge, both the mods have links in their sig. That would require either finding a post by them, or finding them in the list of mods. Both require navigation beyond the main page. Then there's the thread... which is the only copy of the rules, which is in the forum news section... which again, requires navigation beyond the front page.

And ya, I already noted the members list.

For something as important as the rules for the forums, don't you think they should be more easily accessible? Rules should always be somewhere on the main page, not hidden around in sub-forums and signatures.

lol, it's what, 2 clicks of the mouse?
I agree with you, but it isnt that important

DustyPorViva 06-21-2008 08:33 PM

Two clicks of the mouse is a lot when you're a new member and you don't know where to look.

Cyberjouers is losing money from loss of bandwidth, and you take the time to say that? x_x

If only it was easier to get the the rules, CJ could save so much bandwidth!

I can agree with that. they are not clearly marked on the main forum

Edit> Actually, they are clearly marked
"Forum rules and Documentation"

He means something like this.

Googi 06-21-2008 08:51 PM

This isn't a bad idea or something, but it probably isn't going to result in more new members reading the rules. People generally don't read the rules when they join a new forum.

DustyPorViva 06-21-2008 08:58 PM

No, but forums usually have a typical set of rules... Graal forums don't.
