Would just like ur opinions on it :P,
im not a pro web designer but i might use it for my future portfolio.

Chompy 06-20-2008 01:08 AM

I dunno about the background color, but that can be because there's almost nothing to 'focus' at..

I quite like it, but fix the thin text 'Illustrations' :p

cbk1994 06-20-2008 01:12 AM

I don't really like dark websites much; perhaps remove that brown background? It doesn't fit with the blue.

Also, all of the fonts, in my opinion, are pretty awful.

Besides, that, nice!

better?

Chompy 06-20-2008 01:58 AM

Three different fonts :O I say you stick with one or something.. :)

But yeah, the background is better

The background is better, but the fonts still suck :(

Try some anti-aliasing on the "Illustrations" text

If Thorn is you're real name...that's a sweet name. :o

Otherwise, nice website! Why not make the bland grey background some of your work, rather than grey. :o

Because it looks pretty bad as a background next to that blue. :(

Change the blue. :)

The colors seem too strong - not now, but once you put some content in it you will agree.

I prefer the "Keep It Simple, Stupid" or K.I.S.S. approach to design. You may reference Google as an example.

You need to set some margins on your body text - too close to the edges. Not a fan of the background either, I would suggest a VERY subtle pattern.

Yea i added padden to the body text a few mins ago.
and ye the page seems a little empty i might make a background pattern with like dark and light brown pixels, a background image of 2 pixels :p
You like the overal overall (compositioning/layout), though?

Not bad, but it probably doesn't stretch dynamically (for content). What you want to do is work on skins for CMS (Content Management Systems(blogs)). Their APIs can be frustrating to skin, but Drupal is getting pretty popular if you want something to try.

I know what you mean, but if I just repeat the narrow side images (the full brown one) I can stretch it for more content. So I'll just try to stick with this one for a while

Vimerge 07-25-2008 12:55 AM

Woot new layout

Stephen 07-25-2008 01:28 AM

Don't like how the stuff floats on the side at all.

Vimerge 09-11-2008 02:45 PM

I made a new design, hope this looks better in the visitor's eyes

I like it.

Tigairius 09-11-2008 05:47 PM

I don't like the way the site looks, also, you should remove that photo of Frodo from the front page.

You excluded the explanation behind the arguement, would be nice if you included it. And Frodo is cool, so thanks ;)

I don't like that green :/

okay, well, is it just because of the stand alone color or the color combination of dark and light green?
which color you think would look better on the template?

Vimerge 09-11-2008 06:18 PM

made some minor changes, I think it looks better this way, what do you guys think?

Crow 09-11-2008 06:40 PM

I just don't like the green. It goes too far into the yellow range, and I think it's a bit too saturated.

Thanks, well yeah I agree, I don't like yellowish green either, but I kept the banner and link images that way, just changed the content table's background color to a darker color, and cleaned up some unnecessary detail.

Hope you guys like it as much as I do :D
