Player or Developer

What are you? Are you a player or developer? Player being someone who just plays, and developer is someone who develops at least some.

kia345 06-10-2008 04:54 PM

Both. I enjoy playing and just hanging out, but I also like making fun ganis and trying my hand at graphics.

idk, voted player.

grawlgamer 06-10-2008 04:57 PM

Im sure every developer plays a little, why bother if not? He said if you develop at all, vote developer.

kia345 06-10-2008 05:02 PM

I play more than develop though.

But good point.

Elk 06-10-2008 05:03 PM

Deas_Voice 06-10-2008 05:05 PM

Twinny 06-10-2008 05:18 PM

Developer. I'll test stuff but i rarely just play a server. Maybe this will change one day :)

Chompy 06-10-2008 05:31 PM

I'm a dev :)

DustyPorViva 06-10-2008 05:34 PM

Dev... you hardly ever see me playing. Ever.

xXziroXx 06-10-2008 05:56 PM

I was a player, now I am a developer.

Crono 06-10-2008 05:58 PM

I'm both.

MysticX2X 06-10-2008 06:14 PM

Both but dev to a low extent.

Dev, If I would be only player, Id probaply quit lol

sage_scooby 06-10-2008 07:00 PM

Should have had a both option. Though I've been playing now more than developing. Was a time it was the other way around.

If you can dev at all, then go for developer.

We don't need a both option. Most people do both.

kia345 06-10-2008 07:29 PM

I'm not big on putting myself down as a developer because it makes me feel like I have some obligation to actually develop something.

I often LAT but I'm still an above-decent sparrer (when in shape), I actively play events on UN, and I'm always running around doing whatever. I play multiple servers and I don't suck on any of them but Era. :<

I'm literally both. :pluffy:

For the purposes of this poll, I find it appropriate to redefine "developer" as someone who is capable of development and does so to some extent, even if that is very seldom.

Additionally, you can only very rarely find someone who only develops but never actually play the game, hence a "both" option would be redundant.

cbk1994 06-10-2008 08:07 PM

I was more trying to ask who CAN develop, not who does develop more than play.

Most people who develop suck at the game, to be honest. They're players but usually nooby ones, ^____^.

I'd say the both option should be for those who are "good" at both, NOT TO SOUND EGOTISTICAL.

Darlene159 06-10-2008 10:05 PM

I like to make levels, and play, but don't do either a great deal anymore.
No motivation I guess.

Xterminator 06-10-2008 10:18 PM

Both really..i like making levels, but i like playing too .

Any forum-driven statics will obviously not be reliable - however I consider such poles an excellent reference. To discuss the details in any other nature is ignorant of the simplicity of the situation.

To argue them is inconsiderate, and I think that anyone with a cooperative attitude will acknowledge and ignore the opportunity to criticize simply for the sake of appearing knowledgeable.

Perhaps this is a perspective we could all consider before we criticize, or at least before we drag a negative attitude to an otherwise neutral, even positive, topic.

My target audience was the forums; I was trying to figure out if most people on the forums could develop. The results match what I thought.

Yes, and this pole will make an excellent reference in the future. I can also make posts which strike a startling reverberation on the bell of obviousness.

Jeffyy 06-11-2008 04:01 AM

Well lets see, Graal is basically made by its players (Who made the classic player worlds), so technically we are all developers. Developing under dictionary terms it includes creating/recoloring a head. It is considered contributing to the server isn't it? :P

I'm sorry; I don't mean to nitpick, but it should be spelled 'poll', right? Or is it spelled differently where you live?

Horrified 06-11-2008 04:19 AM

Most people are just both...

Tolnaftate2004 06-11-2008 04:39 AM

100% player :)

I'm afraid a spelling error doesn't take away from the validity of my previous post, regardless of how hostile you seem to have perceived it; perhaps some self-reflection is due.

I didn't see it as hostile; I was asking as it seems you always spell it incorrectly.

Chompy 06-11-2008 02:25 PM

It's more developers on the forums then players? Weird, I thought it was the opposite of that..
