Playerworld Concept: Aquapalyps?
<name>,
Si vis pacem, para bellum: "If you seek peace, prepare for war". It is the year 2549 and the Earth’s southern ice-caps have fallen into the sea and flooded whole continents, the water kept rising and rising as both of the poles melted and all the sweet water that suddenly entered the oceans disrupted the ocean conveyor belt and made the climate go berserk. A huge rainstorm gathered over the land and the oceans raised about 500 meters in less than a year. Now, everyone is fighting for survival and strange mutations have been sighted all over the globe. The player will have access to a wide array of missions to uncover the history of the world, as most people have forgotten about it, and eventually the player can rise to be one of the greatest leader known to mankind. The core of the server is a large merchant's city, they dive into the oceans below with unknown devices to everyone else and they sell everything that you can imagine. Other towns and cities can be conquered or taken over by players. • Destructable Buildings. Every town, except the Merchant City, will be completely destructible by bombing key points within a certain time, the city’s population will make another city somewhere else. • Cities float around! Being unable to find earth to base their cities on, Earth’s society is based on the tides and the winds, except afcourse for the Merchant’s City. • Boating! Aquapalyps will give each player the chance to see how it is to sail with loads of other people. You can make your own weapons for it and battle it out with other players. • New-Generation Weapons. Since the propellants for firearms are hard to get, the world has developed a new technology. Biotechnical Weaponry, these weapons use your nervous systems to get power and shoot bolts of pure energy. These guns are powerful and extremely expensive. • Activating Evolution. Biotechnicians found ways to alter one’s gene pool to allow humans to survive better in the current environments. Known alterations are: -Underwater Breathing (Gills) -Flippers, enhancing swimming speed. -Stronger nervous system. Gene enhancement may cause unknown side-effects. Use at own risk! • Events! All of the Aquapalyps events will be correctly mixed with the story and can be hosted at any time by the officials of the cities. • Salvageable debris! Did you destroy a ship? Most of the resources will actually be salvageable if you got the cargo capacity! --------------------------Endofconceptlinethingy------------------ Its an idea with Aquapalyps dubbed as it's project name, I havn't thought of a name yet. I wanted to see what you guys think. As with all of my idea's I plan to have a lot of vague boundairies between PvE and PvP, and destructable stuff, as shown in the feature list. I took the altering from Bioshock, before anyone asks, but I wanted it to look more like Evolution then gene splicing. Discuss :noob: |
Wonderful concept, I really like it! :D

Very interesting ;o

The important question is:
Shall I make this into a server? And second of all: Gold bodies? |
I like these sort of ideas, I wrote up a concept a while ago about a playerworld that is completely underground/inside. It'd have the opportunity to then make the very rare venture to the surface being akin to the matrix above the cloud scene! True story.

Seen the movie Waterworld? Good movie. Sounds exactly like this minus this biomechanical business. I had an idea like this with a friend about a server covered in water. One kind of minor flaw is you're just gonna be using the like 3 or 4 water tiles, making it very unattractive looking unless you can get some cool looking waves going that interact with boats and stuff and possibly giant sea monsters. Yeah. Cool stuff there.

Interesting Concept but none of these ideas ever get finished past stage one.

Amazing idea, if you get the right people, this could really work. I love the speed-based idea with flippers and such.
