Head transparency on playerlist

I made an RC head for my server... problem is, on the playerlist the black is transparent. I set my head to it in client, and the black isn't transparent for my player, but on the playerlist it is. I've tried everything, how do I fix this?

Mind attaching the head image to your post?

The one circled is the headimg, the one under that is an away icon, so that doesn't apply.

maybe making the black a really dark gray, I believe with as old the RC is is take pure white/black and sets it as transparent.

I've tried that. I've also tried making the upper left pixel a different color(sometimes Graal can grab the pixel in the top-left and assign it as transparent). Nothing. So far, though, saving it as 24-bit seems to fix it, but now it shows up deformed in the playerlist(only a few horizontal pixels show).

24bit doesnt support alpha transparency so yeah I can see a somewhat remedy, was that image saved in the 8bit or 32bit format?

If I don't use the correct size for head images it won't set the head at all. that's how I had it at first :/

I think on the external playerlist it uses the first pixel for transparency, so you need to make that a different color.

DustyPorViva 01-14-2008 08:38 PM

I tried that as well, no luck :(

Thats weird. All RC heads I previously made have been like that, and they worked.

DustyPorViva 01-14-2008 09:10 PM

Well I propose the auto-transparency thing be removed :/ Almost any head made is made with transparency anyways... so why is it needed? Oh, and if you could fix my head so it'd work, I'd give you a big Grandma's Peanut Butter Cookie! I've tried everything and it just won't work!

Well the forced transparency is a problem, since it also makes problems with displaying web content (e.g. the news), but without it about 20% of all graphics would look messed up I guess.

For gifs it's currently forcing black as transparency when there is not transparent color defined, for pngs it is forcing all pixels that are matching the transparent color to be transparent.

The drawing of graphics on the playerlist is slightly different, but the next Graal version will have a different playerlist so that problem should be fixed then.

LOL
It better be good.

I'm guessing they're going to remove the external one and script the in-game one to be external(using the new external GUI feature). Yay! I'm assuming we'll be able to disable the playerlist then since everyone's will be using the GUI one.

I have a weird feeling that this will just cause more lag...
