Suggestion: Proxy Limitation
This thread is about a suggestion about Proxies.. :/
These mines are simply annoying, allowing others to get easy kills anywhere there plantable. Before, they weren't much of a problem, but up until recent times, they've been a pain. I've been stacking up deaths off these.. Mostly off ones installed in random locations and under Hover Bikes. I believe, as others do in-game, there should be a limitation on how many you plant. (If there isn't one already) -- Or some sort of team limitation, so the whole team can lay down a fixed amount of proxies and no more. The fixed numbers I came up with were.. 10 Per Player 50 Per Team That way, most of the players on each team are able to place proxies, but without going 'over.' So, there it is.. Limit the amount of proxies placable.. |
I'd rather just have them visible again.

Actually I love Dante's idea. I heard it was more interesting when they were visible anyway :)
|
I would of followed your old idea, but the problem is, there not just being installed by doors/hooverbikes, there in random spots too. >_<

It seems stupid to run around throwing grenades over and over. Proxis were a lot more fun when they were visible. |
See edited post..
|
Ah. Well Huwajux and I both agreed on it and he asked why a system that didn't have a problem and actually worked was changed...we didn't get an answer.
|
I always though it was because Vulcan didn't want the gfx or scripting he did for the mine/mine detector to be deleted. :p
|
If Bps idea was implemented Proxi King Kds Xanadu would be no more. 10 a player? It takes at least 4 to kill one person...the 100 restriction was bad enough let's not make it worse.
|
Either way, someone should Change/Fix it. :/
|
I like putting down like 10+ to take out bikes+ their riders and 30+ for the mechs on Gwars.
|
Boo hoo, you're dying a few times. If you don't like dying by proxies there are some classes that can detect them.

You don't have a response to my enjoyment. Why should I not be able to do that? especailly if they were visible it would be a better way to solve this.. problem. Also yelling at Azeroth is not going to help achieve what you want.

I know, but I'm just too American to quote you. ;)
|
This issue has been brought up on numerous occasions, with the same response over and over 'Make the proxies visible again'. It does not mean that the minedetector becomes obselete and worthless, there are tons of places where the mines can be hidden from the naked eye, and with the addition of movable boxes, this solution has been expanded even moreso.
|
Actually I think making them visible would totally take away from the minedetector. I think if you use that then you won't have any problems getting rid of mines.
I agree that its a pain in the butt...but hey this is just like the mousing issue. |

The minedetector's value wouldn't be gone, otherwise how could you determine whether there are mines under boxes? Or mines under bikes? Or whether the mines were yours or your enemy's? Other than walking in the targeted area and finding out for yourself the hard way. |
So.. in other words.. a solution would be making them visible again (As Dante as stated [got you this time ;)]); and by doing so, the mind detector would still have value? ..
..Guess they should make 'em visible again.. (Like Dante stated) :D |
Putting them in random places is smart, Just throw some god damn barrels on the bike to make sure there is no proxys.
Try expecting proxys in the unexpected. |
What's the point of land mines if proxies were to become visible again? I would always put down landmines then put a box over it and see what idiot would walk into it or I'd set a trap with INVISIBLE proxies and jump into a crowd of noobs and run like a *****. If they're stupid enough to follow me, they blow up.
|
Not to be mean, but I think this thread has no real purpose, they were visible at first I believe, and I am guessing made invisible to add a extra challenge. I say if you have such a problem as suggested earlier, go become a Grenadier class(or any other class with mine detector), and use mine detector.
And yes, I have been victim to many proxs, and I don't use them. And I am still supporting them being invisible. |
Forgot to add this, it is always hilarious when you're minding your own business and you blow up by proxies. I literally jump out of my chair and say "Oh ****." Then I have a good laugh. If they were visible what's the point if everyone can see them?
|
I could go on for a long time about the point of everyone seeing them, Az, I really could. As for it adding a challenge, Desear, it sure as hell did the opposite. When they were visible you had to THINK and be strategic about where you placed them. Hiding them in crates and barrels etc. was among the most popular choices. Now you can put them anywhere and the only thinking involved is where someone's most likely going to step (bunkers ladders etc.)...

If they were visible, you would have to hide them as suggested, and think about that excuse for a second, how many places can you hide proxes behind ? Its very limited especially on Iricia. :/ I want to hear a real reason why they should be visible. |

proxis should always be invisiable, sometimes they are lame but sometimes they can be used to guard a base without anyone there, and you can make traps and take out more than one at a time when fighting a group of teamers..
|
This should have been a poll XD
|
aww but then i cant make myself sound intelligent

I'll just delete this thread and make a poll. ;D |
