Get IrfanView, and reduce the tileset to 256 colors before saving. You have to do that if you want to use it in the editor.

Do you know "Google"? Its a pretty helpful guy, you just have to throw words at him and he will tell you things about them if he knows anything.

I think you should draw inspiration from games such as Battlefield: 'Nam and Vietcong.

Knightmare1 11-21-2007 03:30 AM

I use photoshop, which you probably don't use, so it'd be no use me telling you. Usually, though, you've just got the option to do it from a drop-down menu when saving to the web.

Crow 11-21-2007 04:07 PM

Use IrfanView, it supports converting to 8bit and it does it the nice way.

Pimmeh 11-22-2007 04:45 PM

Btw Knightmare?
For on servers you shouldnt make a local script, use a global one...

aces blank one? my blank one wouldnt work... neither would any of mine..

Pimmeh 11-26-2007 09:02 AM

He didnt ask you if it worked :P just the name!
In offline tilesets cant be more then 8 bit
online they cant be more then 16? Im not sure about that last.

Angel_Light 11-26-2007 02:35 PM

online they can be anything 32 bit PNG, 2 bit PNP, JPG, GIFS, .dds, Graal Image support is almost limitless. Also Images larger than 256kb dont work in the Offline editor, supposedly but, I got larger images to work.

I think it's better off with him sticking to 8-bit PNGs though.

If he is qualified to run a playerworld.

Its art to not be able to google up freeware software and be able to dload it.. thats so sad... Go back to school kid, spend your time learning instead of wasting it.
