tiledefs, problems. I'm stuck.
My problem started when the tileset got updated with some tiles. First I didn't get the tileset to load. And now when I start the editor all I see is a messed up level. I just can't get it fixed.
Here's my offline tiledef. " ace-tileset_template.gif, sorrento-outside_,1,0,0 ace-tileset_ground. gif,sorrento-outside_, 4,512,192 ace-roadtiles.gif ,sorrento-outside_,4,512 ,16 ace-tileset_water.gif, sorrento-outside_,4,256, 320 ace-tileset_waterdeep.gif, sorrento-outside_,4,96, 160 ace-tileset_outsidewalls.gif, sorrento-outside_,4, 512,320 killa-be_cliff, sorrento-outside_,4,1024, 256 dev_ace-tileset116b.png, dynasty_,1,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, f_05.nw,2,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, tempinside.nw,2,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, j_t.nw,2,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, j_ths1.nw,2,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, Seppuku_Dynasty_,1,0, 0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, ,1,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, moondeath_,1,0,0 dev_ace-tileset1.png, Seppuku_Dynasty,1,0,0 dev_ace-tileset116b.png,,1,0,0 " It dosn't matter what script I try to use it still dosn't work. the tiles work fine online. but not in my editor. I could be that the picture could have been changed from 16 to 32 bits. but I doubt it. If anyone could give me any kind of advice on this problem I'd be so greatful. I really need to get back to work. And without a functioning offline editor it's impossible. If you've had any tiledef realated problem and got it fixed. Please. Share your story. |
Why dont you:
1. Remove the offlinetiledefs file completely. 2. Readd the defenitions 3. Enjoy Also, but I think you tried that, just an empty script with "removetiledefs" in it |

too many colors for the offline editor?
|
Wait, I just realized...
Did you edit the tileset yourself? I had that problem once and when someone else gave me one it worked |
They took away the unused colors that were in it :\
|
offline editor can only handle 8-bit images.

But maybe I could change the tileset to .gif just offline to get it work in the editor? I've heard that .gif is 16bits. But I don't really know too much about this stuff. Or we'll just get it changed to 8 bits. We'll see. |
well if you have a decent paint program you can set PNG's to 8, 16, 24, 32-bit. When I do this I make sure i put +32 at the end of the 32-bit file names. Online the client can read all forms I believe. I also believe the editor can not read files greater than 2.5 MB, I've many people put different file size but thats the one when my editor stops reading them.
