RoW Question

Do they or do they not still spawn at shops? I've heard many people say different things on the issue so this is for clarification.

If it turns out that they don't. Why not?

Tigairius 11-09-2007 04:55 PM

They do still spawn in shops, but the chances of them randomly being created has been decreased.

Bring back old spawn rate

I'd only support that as a temporary rate so that the amount of RoW's are enough for the current player-rate. At the moment prolly only a handful of people have Dual RoW's and even some semi-wealthy players are looking for them, some never actually got a pair.

But lets not forget RoW's are a secondary currency for the wealthy, they are used to value rarer items since it is extremely unlikely someone will have x thousands of diamonds in their possession. So i'd be careful of what spawn rate to give it.

Old spawn rate kept the price of a RoW at a steady 500 diamonds. It allowed the players who had played for a couple of hundred hours to get into the higher level of trading (leeter items).
The current spawn rate does nothing but making the wealthy wealthier.

Briliant isn't it :p

Was the rumour about the spawn rate being decreased ever actually confirmed?

Well the spawn rate cannot be such that it eventually leads to the best melee bound ring on GK, common.

This isn't 2006 mate.

ViperZakuto 11-11-2007 06:49 PM

yeah but they are really rare. They havn't changed it since then I'm pretty sure. They have a hard enough time fixing bugs.

They are more... In short supply than rare. There are still quite a few out there and if any oldbies returned, even more, it's just that no one is trading them around so it feels like they are rare now. Btw, it's not a bug...

Googi 11-11-2007 09:44 PM

I was told about 5 years ago that the diamond spawn rate (in mines) isn't a fixed number but rather is determined by a secret set of variables (including how long it's been since the last diamond spawned). RoWs might be the same.

Gothika 11-11-2007 09:45 PM

Yeah, they is still a lot out there. Most olbies have them. But they are also rare and hard to come by now so they don't trade/sell them.

It is a fixed chance number. You know stochastics? That's all, there is no secret stuff. x_x
It's just like that there a "treasure" which the mining rock uses. In it is defined what can appear if the rock is destroyed and the chance for it to appear.

And are RoWs the same?

I know its not a bug you fool. I just said they can't find the time to fix bugs... so why would they take the time to change this?
