Sinking Items

Simple request but could you update dropped items so they sink when over water? It's annoying to have your ship stop from full speed when there is just a few plats in the water.

Could have it so they float for a few seconds, releasing bubble particles and just reduce alpha and zoom until they 'sink'.

Pimmeh 11-04-2007 01:27 PM

You could also not stop!

The boat should keep going and the object should be smashed to tiny pieces ^^. Not everything should sink though. Example: water based barrels of explosives should float (Water mines anyone?).

Haha, rum would float and explode when you cast a fire spell on it :o

Pimmeh 11-04-2007 04:04 PM

Why is the rum gone again?

lawl! :)

Tigairius 11-04-2007 04:10 PM

This is a good idea.

Twinny 11-07-2007 12:34 PM

The more candy my boat crashed into, the more I want this update! !pissed!

cyan3 11-07-2007 01:07 PM

Great idea, i hate it when i'm having a boat battle and i crash into some sea rubbish and stop moving so the other person can blow me up :(

Rum is too good to blow up :(

Ravenblade1979 11-07-2007 03:51 PM

I do agree with this.

When your an experianced sailor having items floating in the water isn't a big deal.

Well it is a big deal when they literally litter the sea, and in some parts, completely restrict movement.

I'd love this to be implimented, and while we are on the subject of ships, could there please be a way to fasten/seucre a ship so that it remain on the shores of the island you intend it to be on? I have a major problem with people constantly taking my ships which i use to unstick in. Perhaps there should be advanced ship-building areas near each kingdom's main shipyard so that faster, more secure and generally tougher ships can be made for war, and those who simply want to cruise, the many normal shipcrafting area's are in good supply.

Not if there's a row of rice. Or invisible candy crosses.

I see your point, It gets on my nerves when people steal my unstick boats too, and as far as making stronger ships goes. That won't happen either. Boat battle are supposed to be about skill (And who lags the least) not who has the best boat.

The invisble candy is tricky. But making items sink over time won't stop people's boats crashing to stuff in the water. When In a battle there will still be some people out there cast create food to block ships. Which can be seen as a stroke of strategy I think it's stupid. In real life people won't through bread in the ocean to stop people, then again it wouldn't float either.

The better boats would be mainly for war purposes. Obviously requiring alot more materials which then makes it part of the preparations for war. Yes, random boat battles may be made unfair because one person has bothered to build a kingdom battleship of their own, but thats kind of how it was in those days, the better equiped one is, the better chance they have in a battle. Which is pretty much how it's always been like.

Then we should not stop at simply making items sink over time. Boats should not be stopped by any object or mob for that matter.

How would it be better though? More cannons? Harder to blow up? Either way I won't make a difference. Many of CP and other experianced people use a boat by themselves so having more cannons would be useless. And in the case of being tougher to blow up won't make much a difference anyway. It will still ammount to skill because people can sink boats being barely touched.

Like Fayt said no point in getting better boats because it won't change much people would just build the better boats and the normal boats will not be used. But i'd like to see a boat with no cannons but with a faster speed.

I was thinking another cannon on each side. Larger, harder to blow up, better directional control (360 steering), can be repaired on the open sea... Generally a perfect battle ship for war.

Generally almost unstoppable because if you could repair it at Sea it would never blow up.

Googi 11-09-2007 02:18 AM

You guys know you can just burn the items, right?

I tried to get this idea implemented many times... but, unsticking was supposedly fixed so you can't use it as a faster way of transportation. So unsticking is still bugged according to stefan's standard.

When they changed unstick to the way it is now, they thought they fixed it, but they made it so you can unstick back to you kingdom island from main, and you can still use it as before. It's just a little harder, lol.

Wars with ships like that would all year.

Yes, after your ship is already stopped.

There shouldn't be a problem, you should unstick at your last checkpoint, which you should be able to choose not it being forced on you. I hate the fact that your actual respawn spot is UD entrance yet you're automatically warped to the Castle front...

Read above.

The problem is... your not supposed to be able to warp from main to Kingdom islands or vice versa... don't believe me? ask Stefan see what his answer is.

refer to Lance's post in this thread if you do not belive me.

Wrong thread prohaps?

ViperZakuto 11-10-2007 05:54 AM

No, if you read the title of That thread. He is griping because he wants to be able to warp. Staff all said there should be no feature to acually warp you from island to island. They put it to your last unstick. And people eventually figured out you could still warp back, if you don't reset your save point to that island. It is still bugged, unless they changed there minds.

A feature to be able to lock down your boats has been suggested many times. They do not like the idea for some reason.
