Improved Stats (use community name or nickname)
 

We have improved the stats in the game to display either the community name (top12 kill stats) or the nickname (when displaying kills in the game or in sparrings).
That should fix some problems for people with the new numbered accounts. If there are problems with that or when there are still cases when the old account name is displayed then please report them.

i dont understand what changed

Instead of "bahamutstevetff killed ..." you see "Mr. Spam King killed ...", and in the top stats you see the community name instead of Graal678123 or so

I still don't understand!

when you kill someone it shows the Nickname you have on at the time, not your Account name

I went on and it didn't do anything.

may need to enable anubis not sure? any thing else we can expect? O.O

I haven't seen it work once yet, but it sounds like a cool idea as long as their is a limit to the size of characters it will display for the nickname. Also, I'll check the stat boards but it should include both Account and nickname correct?

stats already do

I know I was scared he removed the Account, and only used Nicknames for the stats, then it would be hard to tell who has what. x.x

you could just say setnick Desear and say that you got those ranks, that would suck xD

The stats were displaying nick and account, now they are displaying nick and community name.
I have also fixed the right-click-profile, shows the community name.

What is the community name?

I have explained it before:
The account name is the internal name which is used to save your stats, the community name is the actual name displayed to the player. Before the community name was identical to the account name, but now new accounts get a name with a number and people can choose their community name later. Some scripts are still only using the account name, we are in the progress to fix that.

The use of community names makes the account signup simplier, trial accounts are not blocking account names anymore (we will probably remove old trial accounts sometime soon), and it might be even possible in the future to change the community name.

It's for the people who signed up after v5. If someone's account is called Graal###### their community name is displayed instead which is different.
