Map, just playing around :)

What do you think? Suggestions?
Far from being finished, it is just something I play around with ocassionally to relieve stress. :)

Horrified 07-30-2007 09:32 PM

What stress?

and it looks good so far, but dirt roads might work better then the stone-looking roads you have on the top left.

Twinny 07-30-2007 09:53 PM

I find some of the water edging a bit round, the island in the middle a bit squarish and some of the houses seem randomly placed. But I know this is only stage 1 ^^. So far so good.

Crono 07-30-2007 10:30 PM

I kind of like the outline. Keep it up.

Well, the roads will probably be changed a million times before it is done, if I don't get bored first. :)

Hmm, I like round, lol...and yea, the island in the middle is too square, I agree. It used to be on N-Pulse as Fun Island, don't know what happened to it, and yea, the houses are randomly placed, and will also be moved around quite a bit. This is basically just a way for me to practice level work, and get ideas. :)

Tracker180 07-31-2007 02:33 AM

wow, that could be a very small server Gmap lol, it looks good also

Thanks :)

Luda 07-31-2007 03:48 AM

The basic layout of it is good, but I hope you redo the coast line. Today I was actually going to try and make a map of a game called Suikoden and it's very similar to this, with surrounding land and a castle in the middle of the lake. :O

Keep it up.

Yea, doing coast lines, and cliffing are 2 things I need a lot of practice on, so I will be working on those 2 things a lot.

smirt362 07-31-2007 08:29 AM

As far as I can tell...that waterfall looks magnificent.

ChrisNolan 07-31-2007 09:00 AM

Wow o_o There is an entire server there.. I like the trees a lot, being surrounded by trees in a game always makes me feel so cozy. ^^ And I also like how there is so much water if there is a reason behind it (Like only being able to get to other islands by ship or if it's a pirate server or something)

Yea, I probably will later, but most people generally dislike mt level style. :frown:

WanDaMan 08-08-2007 08:28 AM

I like the design, you could some pretty kewl stuff with it!

Nice work, keep it up! I've noticed you're leaving stuff un-finished and starting somethin' new - any reason why?

You mean on the map? I get bored with doing one thing, and start something else. It's just the way I am. :D

lol, I'm sure it isn't a good thing, but I don't care. I'm just playing around anyway because I miss making levels.

Seriously, I just get tired of looking at one area, and move to another. It all gets done eventually.

Me too XD, it's generally a weakness in development, though.

Yea, I agree, but I wouldn't do that if it were a job, but this is just for fun, so who cares. :D

kenyonandelliot 08-15-2007 07:27 AM

I like how its coming, good job.

Do you have an update coming?

Not really happy with the paths, but I'm not changing them right now.

Crono 08-15-2007 04:19 PM

Wow you actually work. I have a map sitting there and I detail about 1/4 of a level everytime I open it...which is rare enough.

:P

It's a great stress reliever for me. >_< Something I very much enjoy doing.

TalonShriner 08-16-2007 10:15 PM

The land at the bottom looks fantastic! I wish we could see some closeups of that and also the waterfall area :O

Waterfall area? If you are talking about the upper right of the island in the middle, I didn't level that, Ducati did I think. That island used to be on N-Pulse, and was Moon God and I's baby when we Managed there, so I added it to my world (not that it will be ever online or anything >_<) Thanks for the compliment. :)

I took a few snapshots, but they aren't done. I still need to work on the paths, and the cliff areas.

WanDaMan 08-19-2007 06:21 PM

Wow, it's comin' along great!!

Pimmeh 08-19-2007 06:21 PM

I like it, although its really hard to see how its gonna be once the detailing is done...
And yeah you have to fix the pathing...it doesnt look good like this
Wow Wan you beat me to it iwth a few SECONDS

WanDaMan 08-19-2007 06:45 PM
