Graal's Lag
Why is it laggy on my computer. It's above Graal's system requirements and I tried it on my friend's computer. He can play Crysis which needs a very good computer and it still laggy on his computer. :(
I mostly lag when there is a lot of things going on. (i.e: A lot of players in 1 level, many messages on the screen, too many npcs, and whatnot). It's very annoying. :( |
I lag alot also. Except my lag is fine until 5 minutes into the game, than I cant really move. It takes me about 20 minutes to leave a small building. V5 really blew it for me. Im not sure if I will renew. I am buying a new computer, but I dont think Graal is worth it. It gets worse and worse.
|
V5 has been working fine for me except for today for a little while were everything just froze and then I find out I died twice. But that has happened before...
|
My lag is just absolutely terrible. I dont know what to do =(, i've tried everything!
|
It's bad enough that I lag with crappy Australian internet to other people, but V5 taking up a ton of CPU locally makes it nearly unbarable to play just about any server, for me... Because of my internet lag, before people were just randomly 3 or so steps ahead of where they really appeared on my screen, but now with CPU crap, I might as well just stand still and watch people warp around me. :( and it get's so bad to the point that Graal will totally freeze at time for up to around 2 minutes.

Some more information would help to analyze the problem:
- server name or special level / situation where you get the lag - your game_console.log - your computer specs (OS, CPU, graphics card etc.) - graphics card driver version |

The Specs are: Pentium 4 3.40Ghz 3.39 Ghz 512 MB of RAM It uses Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 if that makes any difference. |
And game_console.log from the Graal folder and the graphics card?
|
Windows Vista
-Server Name: Era (Mostly lag on their, and on others I lag about half of what I lag on era) -Game_Console (see below) -CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.20 GHz -RAM: (Current)894 MB (Default)1024 MB -System Type: 32 Bit -HardDrive: 300 GB -GPU: nVidia GeForce 6150 LE -GPU Clock: 424 MHz I don't know where to look for GPU Driver Card Version but I'm 100% sure it's up to date. NPC Code: |
Wait, i've stumbled onto something!
It seems it has noting to do with the computer! The lag is very tolerable when playing, I mean you have your occasional lag session once alot of tpeople are in the same room, but for the most part the lag is next to none. That is until I send a mess message or PM! Than the lag increases 10x fold. I have no idea why this occurs, but I remember not lagging for about an hour and I was wondering why, than I sent out a mass message on Era to sell some stuff, and next thing I know im moving at about a tile every 10 seconds! |
I highly suggest downloading hijack this, and running a scan. Or press alt ctrl delete, then go to the processes. Check explorer.exe see if it is taking up any CPUs. If so you can click end task (dont freak out because you desktop disappeared). Then go to File new task then type explorer. If explorer.exe is still taking up cpus then get hijack this run a scan then post the log here. Another problem you might have is having to many programs.
|
Alot of lag for me is usually related to the ammount of players on the server, bad server scripts, large file downloads (mp3 music, ect), and mass messages enabled.

How do you find out your computer stats?
Aswell, I lag like crazy when new images download. Even tiny ones.. It wasn't bad at all before, but now its like whoah. My computer is cleaned out and fast.. |

The system score stuff is on Vista, so if you're running XP, don't expect to find that info :). Also, if you click on Start, then Control Panel, and then Device Manager, you will get more information on what is in/running on your computer.
