Problems
Fresh install of Windows, everything works except, unavoidably, Graal.

That was the first thing I did.
Thanks though :) |
windows xp 64 bit?
|
No ... I've used this exact copy of Windows and it has worked before.
I'm going to try to reinstall DirectX again ... doubt that will work though. I'm running Graal off of Paralells, but as far as Windows is concerned, it's running natively. |
Try changing your color mode to 16-bit. It means that some light effects will be ugly, but I have the problem you have, and so far, it's been the only solution.

ANy errors in your F2 Window?
|
Well installing a new DirectX normally doesn't help, what you need is a graphics driver.
|
Thats actually a weird phenomenon. Some features of Graal wont work on the same pc after formatting your hard drive and reinstalling Windows
|
Wrong wrong, all wrong. Just reinstall your graal client completely. Had to do that with mine or it would not show any gui images at all. XD, I tried drivers and DirectX, they all produced the same problems. Right until I went and redownloaded Graal and installed it on a clean folder. Works fine now if you ask me, except the random 64 bit memory issues graal has.

Hmm, I did not think that Parallels provided true graphics acceleration to programs running inside of it.

I'm on a Mac, and Parallels basicly runs a Virtual computer, so it's a brand-new PC. I have been using Boot Camp, which is basically a easy dual-boot solution for Mac. Using OpenGL to run Graal corrected all of the errors, but it made the game extremely slow (I go about 1/10th of my normal speed). I'm going to find the latest OpenGL to install and see if that helps. Thanks everyone for the help, I think I may just create a new partition and dual-boot off of it. Skyld-- I thought that was the problem at first, but my friend is able to run Graal without OpenGL fine on Paralells (I've done this before too without any trouble). Anyway, I'll try a few things and post back here. Thanks everyone, if anyone has a few extra brainwaves, please share! |
I had the same problem on Windows and I lowered the color depth to 16-Bit, (Which i believe is Thousands of Colors on Mac) This fixed it, runs a tad faster aswell :P

Your .DLL hell. |
Oddly enough, i used to have the same problem. I would have to open 1 Graal client, minimize it, then open a second Graal client which would appear to show everything correctly.
I then just closed the first Graal client and used the non-bugged 2nd one. I'm not exactly sure how the problem got fixed though, sorry. :( |
