How do you even install this game?
 

I'm running Linux and when I tried to run the program it just pulls up a binary that I can edit. I saw on the homepage that I need to run XWindows and OpenGL, but I have no idea what either of these are and when I visit one of the websites it just confuses me even more.

Has anyone gotten Graal t o run on their Linux OS? I just can't seem to get it to work.

emerge gnome, and then just run graal... That SHOULD be one way it works. Otherwise... Make sure you chmod +x it... And then run it from terminal using ./graalexe or something.

If you can't read the message it says:

Unable to read from /proc/self/exe. Your operating system may be broken. (2)

I guess it's pretty obvious. Your operating system is broken.

A bit off-topic, but how can anyone use windows with transparency set that low on them?

Weird error.

The easiest way to install Graal is to download with firefox and then click on "open" (in the download window), it should work fine then. If that is not working then open a console window, change to the directory where you download it (e.g. cd ~/Desktop) and run the setup manually: bash graal4setup. Sometimes you need to start it two times to make it work, not sure why.

The path "/proc/self/exe" is showing where the program is running from, normally that can't be "broken". What is it showing when you do "ls -all /proc/self/exe" ?

I'm using a LiveCD, could this be the problem?

When I used LiveCD, I couldn't get write access to any of my partitions. I found I was downloading files straight into memory :x

Well hang on then, I'll install this dual-boot, and see what goes up. I'm hoping this isn't one of the Linuxes that take days to partition and install :(

Ubuntu is awesome and quick. Gentoo is one of the 40 hour installing distributions.

Yeah so the problem happened to be the LiveCD. It installed fine but now it just wont run.

I think I need a Windows emulator to run it since its an .exe? Winetools comes with ubantu, so I used that, but when I click the icon nothing happens. Does OpenGL have something to do with it? I don't have OpenGL and have no idea what it is.

OpenGL is only optional. You really just need graphic drivers that use DirectX (which is 99.99999% of them from what I know). But my knowledge of Linux is very very limited so I wouldn't be able to tell you anything other then that.

You should probably download the Linux setup package then...

the linux package uninstalls itself into an .exe

are you sure I need a driver to run it? the help website says that it doesn't have drivers for graphics card under the radeon 9500 se and i have a 9200
