A ban limit?

I know your not supposed to try to get unbanned on the forum's and what not, But I'm not trying to get unbanned. I take away pacmasta's RC on a server because I found out it was pacmasta that messed up era. Anyways he decides to spam my ban record so I sign onto some playerworld because I saw when I was about to get on maloria. I log on and get the message 'Oh you get banned alot for anti-unixmad stuff now your banned here.'

Well anyways, My point is There should be a limit to how many times you can ban someone on a server to keep them from spamming ban records becasue once is enough.

I suggest censoring those links, man.

I can already foresee a lot of problems in a system like that. Once the limit is reached somebody can no longer ban that account on the server? Some people are banned for jail-time ect on servers under certain circumstances.

I mean the ban time should be able to be extended but I don't see why it needs to show up multiple times.

Have you tried putting a ticket in? I'm not sure whether or not ban info can be accessed and changed, but since they are stored someplace I assume somebody has access to do that and remove the invalid/slanderous ban history.

It's really difficult to moderate because the system cannot differentiate between legitimate and illegitimate bans. The multiple instances is just because somebody unbanned you and rebanned you however many times in the space of a few minutes.

Might be an idea to add something like a limit on how many times a person could be banned in a day or week. Or even the time between which somebody can be banned and rebanned (3 days I believe is the lowest ban?) Not sure if it would be implemented or not though.

Or replace it's previous ban on that server.

TheJames 06-21-2007 10:33 PM

Sorry about the bans on Atrius. KuJi or someone has seemed to took over my server.. le' tear.

zokemon 06-21-2007 11:57 PM

It's all Kuji, pacmasta didn't have anything to do with all of this.

Twinny 06-22-2007 07:48 AM

I've got a few from pw57 which is kinda annoying. Apparently it was an automated script. I asked Ibonic before and he said he couldn't remove ban entries :(

Sarasm or realism? Haha I'd like to know who infultrated my administrator account, along with 5 other playerworlds. KuJi, and dbug are my only suspects.

Do you really think a bunch of anti-graal people would get together and plan a massive scale attack? If so, then no, they aren't organized enough to do that. It's all one person.

TheJames 06-22-2007 06:42 PM

I meant to put an or in there. It is usually two people though..

Tyhm 06-22-2007 06:52 PM

Spam bad. Replaced on the log if possible, or just have it say "Ban extended: #a to #time" so it's not a fresh offence.

I didn't even know these things were logged. Meh!

Anyone remember when Graal had Judges responsible for overturning such decisions?

Admins 06-22-2007 07:46 PM

Ok deleted a lot of local-bans and local-ban-modifies, if there is still some spam from those hacks then please report to us.

zokemon 06-23-2007 12:31 PM

Thanks for fixing it Stefan :)
