So what do you guys think?

How can this be improved upon?

xXziroXx 05-12-2007 03:04 AM

You can start with reshading it completely. It looks like a plastic figurine. Design is nice though! :)

smirt362 05-12-2007 03:10 AM

Try not to make him look so shiny.
Also his arms look a tad weird.

SayianOozaru 05-12-2007 03:31 AM

Its a sketch for a monster, on kingdoms (probably). But when I showed those players, they didnt give any crits, just said "thats badass". So I posted here.

Hes supposed to be shiny, btw.

MrAnonymous_P2P 05-12-2007 04:41 AM

His feet look a tad weird. Plus the outline is pretty dark. But that might have been what you were going for.

DustyPorViva 05-12-2007 04:56 AM

Dunno why he's supposed to be shiny, it looks quite odd. I'd say give him actual hair and give him a nice shine on their hair, not his shading.
The outline is dark, and I don't quite think it fits the art of GK, but if you keep it, fix all the jagged pixels on it.

Crow 05-12-2007 09:41 AM

Well, most of the outlines on GK are dark, so thats just fine I guess. But I agree, the shading is really bad right now. Hair would rock :P

Agreed.

Gambet 05-13-2007 02:37 PM

This monster isn't scary, nor intimidating :frown:

kia345 05-13-2007 04:40 PM

He makes me think Sonic the Hedgehog on steroids

Well I figured since the 'lord' monsters on GK are shaded with a shine, that I should stick to doing something like that. That's the only reason why. ^^ (check attachments, did the best I could to try to match the graphics)

Either is the Glok Lord, or Bunny Lord. ;)

Well, I was just playing with the mouse, and that outline ended up comming out, so I stuck with it. I didn't want it to resemble anything in-life.

DustyPorViva 05-14-2007 06:42 AM

Well, I think it works with the shine with the other stuff because of their textures. Mushrooms can be shiny, blobs of slime can, bomy's because of their shells, but it just really doesn't fit with hair. I'd say the size should be well enough to determine its status along with other lords. In this case, I think you could sacrifice that bit of detail in order to make the graphics better.

Here I tried to edit them a bit. (Thankfully I saved the outline with just the main colors ^^)

I tried using less colors on the one to the left, and tried making it look like hair. The center is the first one. The one to the right, I took the first one and just added a little effect.

ff7chocoboknight 05-14-2007 12:13 PM

Woah! Great job, Sayian!

Make one without the shine and with real hair!

I think it'd look better if he was standing, it looks fiercly unbalanced.

smirt362 05-14-2007 05:56 PM

It would look really good if you weren't lazy and didn't use the burn and dodge tools...

Zideruic 05-14-2007 09:24 PM

If you spent a small bit of time on the one that actually looks like fur and not red iron it'd look amazing.

Moonite 05-14-2007 10:35 PM

"GK Graphics Team" okay...

Zideruic 05-14-2007 11:10 PM

Reminds me of a friend of mine resembling your name.

Actually, I have the "Burn" tool (Not sure about the Dodge tool?). But the "Burn" tool goes straight to black for me.

I think I said in my first post (it might be in the post on the GK part though) that it was a sketch, I dont want to work on the final product until I find figure out how shade the same as the other lords. :P

If I missed you, its because I don't want to take the 2 minutes to load the first page. (Dialup sucks)
