Work in progress as well, need to get rid of the dithering.

Sage_Shadowbane 05-10-2007 11:07 PM

I rather like the grass... But the rock has no perspective to it.

killerogue 05-10-2007 11:08 PM

If you were referring to the big rock, I suppose that'd be because it's a WIP? -.-

MrAnonymous_P2P 05-10-2007 11:43 PM

I thought you quit killer?

killerogue 05-11-2007 12:11 AM

I quit all developing on Graal. And generally playing the Graal. If you think to yourself, anything I've posted in the graphics forum has absolutely nothing to do with this game.

It's just a medium for me to get some opinions and constructive criticisms for my pixel art and games and such which I am currently undertaking. This has nothing to do with Graal whatsoever.

Infernix 05-11-2007 01:15 AM

The grass might be good and it might be bad but kinda cant tell since its not mass spread.

DustyPorViva 05-11-2007 01:47 AM

The grass is a bit too dark, and I don't know if it'll tile right because it seems like you took the blades and spread them out from the middle. Even if you tile them randomly, you'll still have blades going in every which direction which will most likely stand out.

Tiled up.

DustyPorViva 05-11-2007 02:04 AM

Ya, right now it's kind of having a 'clover' effect because the blades go outwards from the center, their pattern is really obvious.

Zideruic 05-11-2007 05:15 AM

To be honest if you made the blades thinner and more layered it should be a good effect.

you shouldnt start in the midle :P

Though I like how its done. You could use it as detail. Looks a little bit like the one in Seiken Densetsu 3.

That looks really hot, but it still looks kinda flat, because the bottom is just a straight line.

Where's the depth in it? It looks like something you cut out of a screen shot thanks to it being so flat.

DustyPorViva 05-13-2007 07:31 PM

Maybe because it's for a platformer perspective(straight on). I think it has a lot of depth.

Same here. Its great. Hard to make it better.

xXziroXx 05-13-2007 07:43 PM

If it's for a platformer, it's awesome.

Wow, you're kidding right? I'm not trying to seem big headed here but..."Where's the depth?", Uhh, have you taken a look?

Oops, Dusty answered the question. Yes it was originally for a straight on platformer.

Luda 05-13-2007 10:01 PM

It's good Stan trust me, but for some reason I just can't think you made it for a platformer, It seems like practice to me.
