Image display problems?

People have complained (rarely) that the Ol' West Q Menu doesn't display properly, although on most home computers it works fine. Whenever I log on at school, I noticed that my Q menu is invisible... I'm not sure why, does anyone have any suggestions?

Is there anything unusual in the graal4console.log (or F2 window) when this happens?

It might also be useful to know a bit about the computer that is not working. (Is it running Windows Vista, for example?)

It says the file has been downloaded, it just doesn't show... The computer is running Windows XP. I can't access device manager, so I'm not sure what video card is being used. Uhh, I think it's a problem with the graphics/video card because I can't view most of the BlueGui stuff or light/partical effects either...

What does F2 say (full log) ?

You dont need to access device manager.
Press Windows Key + R and type in dxdiag. If they have the command prompt blocked, go to C:/windows/system32/ and open command.exe and type dxdiag and press enter

It will open the Direct X Diagnostic tool, go to display tab and you can get a small overview of your graphics controllers

Yes, that usually shows that you don't have an accelerated graphics card driver installed. In the next version we plan to display a window giving a warning about that.

I see... okay, so there is no way to fix this unless I replace the graphics card?

Or install the correct drivers for the card which will provide hardware acceleration, but you will need administrator access for that.
